Boss Battle: Haunters

Well Aura Sphere didn't work. Geek had tried Aura Sphere and Extreme Speed and both just flew right through the ghost types. After jumping over a very fast Shadow Ball, Geek landed, trying to devise a plan. Gallade, Marowak, and Greninja were having fun dealing with two of the Haunter, while Volt, Wave, and him had to deal with one. The Haunter they were fighting was the strongest of the three however, and it was holding the orb with it. Geek tried standing still and thinking, but the Haunter quickly used a Shadow Sneak and slammed into him, sending him flying backwards. Geek got stuck in one of the pillars and couldn't get out.

"Little help here guys!?" Geek shouted as the Haunter got closer and closer to him.

"Hold on! This might hurt a little!" Wave shouted as he suddenly jumped up and rode a massive wave that came out of nowhere.

"I learned Surf!" He shouted as he smiled and shouted like an old western Pokémon.

The Haunter, not looking, took a full blast of water and went flying sideways. The water, rather than hurt Geek like he was expecting, dislodged him from the pillar. As he hit the ground, Geek looked behind them to see how everyone else was doing. It wasn't going well. Gallade was down, or at least almost down, and Marowak was trying to defend him while Greninja fought one on her own. As Geek turned back around, Volt jumped in front of him and Iron Tailed the Haunter in the face.

"Dude! Where are you? Lala land?" Volt asked somewhat agitated.

"I'm just seeing if they were ok! I'm also trying to figure out how to defeat this guy!" Geek answered, annoyance in his own voice.

Jumping up, Geek shot a Thunder Bolt into the Haunter, sending it flying back. Wave jumped up and used Hydro Cannon, sending it flying even further. Then, finishing it off, Volt jumped up and smashed his tail into the Haunter with an Iron Tail. The Haunter just recovered just in time for Geek to charge up and fire a large Dragon Pulse, slamming into the Haunter and forcing him to drop the orb. Volt, seeing the now dropped orb, dashed forward, but was stopped as one of the other two Haunter appeared, using Shadow Ball to knock him back. Wave dashed past the first Haunter and dove for the orb, but halfway there he was stopped and chucked into the wall by the second Haunter.

Geek stopped firing his Dragon Pulse. Standing before him were the last two Haunter, and he was the last one standing. He was weak, after using Dragon Pulse for such a long time, and he could barely move a muscle. Collapsing to the ground, Geek looked right at Volt who was lying next to him, both weak and beaten up.

"Well... crap..." Geek tried joking, but it didn't heal the situation.

Above them, the two Haunter charged up massive dark orbs. They weren't Shadow Ball attacks, but they looked similar. Then Geek realized what they were. It was the energy drawing in ability. The weird attack that only Shadow Pokémon had. Closing his eyes, Geek waited as the dark orb flew down and slammed into... him? A strange beam sound echoed across Geek's body, and as he opened his eyes, he saw that his scarf was glowing.

"What the..." He began to say, but then realized what was happening.

There was a large shield around Geek, and the Stamina Drain attack was fighting to get through. Suddenly, the Stamina Drain orb bursted and the Haunter looked puzzled as to why the attack didn't work. Geek looked at the two Haunter with a grin. Somehow, he didn't know, but somehow, the scarves made him invulnerable to the attacks. Volt stood up next to him, ready to battle.

"You good?" Geek asked, suddenly filled with energy and strength.

"Surprisingly, yes. It's like our scarves act as shield, and portable power houses," Volt said.

"Guess so. Let's get'm!" Geek shouted as he and Volt dashed forward.

Thunder Bolt after Thunder Bolt slammed into and around the Haunter. Geek kept the two Haunter close, using as much power as possible, while Volt rapidly slammed both of them with Thunder Bolts and Iron Tail attacks. Once both of the Haunter were back to back, Volt slammed both with another Iron Tail like a bat, and Geek jumped up and Dragon Pulsed them both even further than the first Haunter before. Landing on the ground, still with energy in him, Geek walked over and smashed the orb on the floor. All three Haunter, vanished soon after.

It was a long couple of hours after that. Wave, Gallade, Marowak, and Greninja all lost consciousness after their fight, but Geek and Volt refreshed them on what was going on. After finally getting Marowak to finish up his drawings, the group set out and started heading home. It took a day, but they finally got back. With a happy greeting from everyone in the city, they went straight to the HQ to eat with everyone else. It was a long and tiresome night, so right after dinner, Geek and Volt went to bed. They would need their strength for tomorrow's explorations and mishaps.
