Everything was dark. It was basically a pitch black dungeon. Volt had to resort to drawing a map of each floor so they would know where in the dungeon they were. The only light they had was the faint glow of Volt's electricity in his cheeks. After several hours of going down only two floors, the group sat down and took a quick break. Not only was this place hard to navigate, it was filled with really tough Pokémon. Gallade had been leading, but he decided to have Geek lead with Volt right behind him.
"Everyone, stay frosty," Geek echoed back through the group.
"Haha very funny," Gallade sarcastically said from the back.
As they went deeper, it got a lot colder. After a few more hours of aimless wandering through the Dungeon, they managed to stumble a few more floors down. As they did, they started encountering more ice and dark types. There was even the occasional ghost type. Things were getting creepier and creepier the deeper they went.
"Anyone else get the feeling like we're being watched?" Gallade suddenly said.
"Yes. We are, but honestly, I can't tell who or where they're watching us from," Greninja replied calmly.
"Well that's comforting," Volt joked.
"Wait, does anyone else hear that?" Marowak asked.
"That weird giggling noise?" Geek asked back.
"Yeah. It's like it's coming down the hall," Marowak replied.
"Let's keep going," Wave said.
A few moments later they arrived at a smaller tunnel that broke off in another direction. It was cramped, but everyone was able to fit through. Once they got to the other side, they realized that they had left the dungeon entirely. They were in an abandoned building. More like an abandoned ruin, much more elaborate than the one in the Ancient Keep. There were halls of a grand castle like building, paintings of old Pokémon, and writings of all types everywhere. Marowak went straight to work on copying it down.
"Amazing! I can decipher a bit already, from prior knowledge, but a I think this is talking about ancient events of this same issue! Apparently the whole orb control thing had been a very old issue in our world, but I think it's only now starting to grow into that 'calamity' the other tablets talked about," Marowak explained as he went into full on nerd mode.
Geek, Wave, and Volt looked around at some of the pictures on the walls. They were a mixture of self portraits, pictures of picnics or outings made by other Pokémon. It was, spectacular to see. As they observed the wonderful art, Marowak continued writing down the words and phrases on the walls, and Gallade and Greninja stood alert and in guard. Suddenly, a vase that was on a pedestal fell off and shattered. Everyone looked at the vase with fear in their eyes. There was no way it could just fall off at this exact moment.
"You have come to a forsaken place," a voice suddenly echoed from the halls.
Geek took a step back and accidentally knocked over another vase. The vase shattered, revealing an orb inside. Realizing that it was controlling somebody, Geek lifted his foot and smashed it down, but the orb was gone. It was floating just above his head. Then, materializing from nothing, two Haunter appeared in front of Gallade, Marowak, and Greninja, and one appeared in front of Geek, Volt, and Wave.
"YOU WILL END HERE, ALONG WITH THIS SECRET!" The three shouted at the same time.
