Geek slowly came to his senses, taking in the beautiful scenery. The trees, the swaying leaves, the wind, the lush grass below him, the waterfall in the distance... wait, waterfall in the distance? Geek perked his head up, immediately regretting it as his head throbbed with pain from a very heavy headache. Laying back down, Geek looked around from the ground. He was in the little clearing. The place he had first arrived in. How he got there, he didn't remember. Suddenly, memories began flooding in. The factory, the Haunter, Gengar, the team, Wraith, everything. Geek moved over and sipped from the pond under the waterfall. His headache almost immediately went away. When Geek looked back, he saw Volt laying in the grass next to where he was.
"Volt?" Geek asked.
No reply.
"Volt? Hey bro, time to get up," Geek said as he shook his friend.
"Nooooooo... five more minutes," Volt groaned as he rolled over.
"No, you get up now," Geek replied as he shook Volt harder.
Volt suddenly snapped awake, suddenly wrapping back in pain as he head also throbbed with pain.
"Oh geez..." Volt said, seeing Geek and leaning back down, "It feels like I got hit by a Bouffalant."
"Yeah. I was the same way," Geek said, sitting down in the dirt next to his friend.
Volt sighed, "Well this is a fine mess we're in."
"Yeah," Geek replied, more confused and puzzled than ever as he looked to his and Volt's scarves.
"Yeah, we're wondering the same thing," Volt said as he nodded to his scarf.
"How?" Geek asked himself.
"How what?"
"How are we still going? We were taken out just like everyone else. Not saying I'm upset about this, but should be asleep, floating through a dark realm right now."
"I know, but we have to be thankful of what we got. Not to mention, it was probably something to do with the scarves. Come on, let's head to HQ and see if anyone is still alive," Volt suggested as he stood up, his headache passed.
The two walked quite a ways to Petal Town since it was closest. The entire place was abandoned. Pokémon lay asleep in the streets, buildings looked abandoned, and everything just seemed, dead. Geek and Volt walked through the streets stepping over Pokémon and dropped items. They were both horrified by everything they saw.
"This is just..." Volt trailed off, not wanting to finish his thoughts.
"I know. This was Wraith's doing. We're gonna have to go back and get him for this," Geek said.
"Geek, I don't want to have to bring up anything too touchy but..." Volt trailed off again, deep in his thoughts trying to find the correct wording.
"Do you think Skitty and everyone are ok?" Volt finally asked.
Geek's heart suddenly weighed down by a good five trillion pounds. He hadn't even thought about them. Was he that distracted, or was he simply putting it behind him so he could keep going? Geek plopped down in the middle of the street, looking down at the ground letting his thoughts wander.
Suddenly, a voice called out to them, quietly, but audibly, "Geek! Volt!"
"Huh what?" Volt perked up, looking all over the place from where the voice came from.
"Over here idiots!" The voice whispered louder.
Geek looked over to the shop where Kecleon normally was, and saw Tsunami sitting there, slightly hidden.
"Tsunami!" Geek whispered back as he and Volt ducked under the shop and landed next to Tsunami.
"Dude! Have you been hiding here this whole time?" Volt asked, somewhat shocked.
"No. I've been walking around town shouting 'Come get me Gengar and Haunter!' Of course I've been hiding here you idiots!" Tsunami replied angrily.
"Sorry, dumb question," Volt replied.
"Tsunami," Geek asked, "did anyone else survive besides you?"
"Yes actually. Charmander, Cubone, Eevee, and Timburr survived. Skitty did too," Tsunami said, pride taking root in him, "of course they survived because of my advanced warning."
Relief washed over Geek at the sound of that. At least they were all ok. Tsunami went on to say that they were all living in Skitty's house. They basically camped out in there for now, and they would only leave to get food or water, or if Tsunami needed them for some mission. Tsunami also explained that he was a temporary Explorer of Tomorrow. Since they had disappeared, Lucario and Victini needed more members. Wave was the only one who came back, and he was in really bad shape when he did return. Now that they were back, maybe they had a chance to launch a counterattack against Wraith.
"Come on, let's head to the base. There's a bunch of survivors there and I'm sure Lucario and Victini will be happy to see you," Tsunami suggested.
"Alright, let's go," Volt answered.
"Sure, let's go but, first, shouldn't you tell the others we're back?" Geek asked.
"Nah. If I tell them, they'll freak out and want to see you. That'll waste more time that we don't really have on our side right now," Tsunami said.
"Oh, ok..." Geek said, disappointment and a slight amount of understanding in his voice.
