"20 days!" Volt exclaimed as they both sat in their room waiting for everyone else to get up, "We've been here 20 days, and yet it feels like yesterday I just got here."
"Well, I guess time does fly when you're having fun," Geek said as he sat down in his bed, looking over at his friend.
"I guess so," Volt said, his ear twitching.
"What's the matter?" Geek asked, concerned for his friend.
"I don't know really, I've just been on edge lately. I've felt so, defensive. I guess it's just cause we're in this group now, so we have to keep our guard up," Volt suggested.
"I guess," Geek said.
Suddenly, the main entrance to the HQ opened and closed almost silently.
"What was that?" Volt asked, suddenly alarmed.
"I guess you being on edge is kinda good right now," Geek said as he stood up and moved over to their bedroom door.
Opening the door slowly, he stuck his head out and looking into the main hall. At the entrance to the base was a Pokémon. Geek couldn't tell who exactly it was, it was too far away, but he could roughly make out a shape jutting from the figure's head. It a was long, and very pointy horn.
"Is that who I think it is?" Volt suddenly said from under Geek.
"Wait what the-" Geek whispered as he looked down, seeing Volt's head under his, which startled him.
"Ack!" Geek shouted as he fell on top of Volt, sending both of them crashing to the floor.
Almost immediatly, Greninja and Lucario were out of their rooms and standing in their doorways, staring at the jumbled heap of blues and yellow. Gallade sleepily opened his door, and Victini did as well.
"You guys alright?" Victini mumbled groggily, still half asleep.
"It hurts everywhere," Volt muttered from under Geek.
"Same," Geek said she slowly stood up.
Wave opened his door a few moments later, still wearing his sleeping cap.
"What's going on everyone?" He asked as he yawned and rubbed his eyes.
"Geek and Volt had a big boom boom," Victini chuckled as she flew over and helped Volt up.
As Geek stood up, he was able to see the figure in the entrance, now looking right at them. It was Tsunami. Quickly, Geek dashed down the hall and ran up to Tsunami, sliding right up next to him.
"Sup dude!" Geek shouted.
"Hey, ummm, is this a good time? I think you guys might have woken everyone up," Tsunami said somewhat laughing somewhat confused.
"Nah, it's fine. They needed to wake up soon anyway," Geek replied as he shook Tsunami's hand.
"Been awhile hasn't it?" Tsunami stated.
"Yeah, but dude has it been fun here! Yesterday..." and so Geek explained everything that had been happening over the past couple of days since they joined the Explorers of Tomorrow.
A few moments later, as Geek was still telling Tsunami about their adventures, Volt finally joined in, explaining everything in another view point. All in all, fun was had by all that morning. Tsunami explained that he came to visit Geek and Volt to see how they were holding up. He was also kind of voted out for being a little mail deliverer man from everyone in the village.
"Yeah, I got a letter from everyone in school, and even a few letters from some of the adults," Tsunami said as he pulled out a load of letters from his bag.
"Cool. Hey, I think breakfast is almost done, wanna join us?" Volt asked.
"Sure! Oh boy am I famished!" Tsunami suddenly changed from his normal self, to an enthusiastic kid bent on eating everything in the house.
"Woah! Hold on there bud! Let's first get everyone else acquainted!" Geek suddenly barged in, slowly introducing Tsunami to everyone else.
That morning was great. Everyone ate their fill, and Tsunami even joined Geek and Volt on an adventure. Granted, they all kind of tagged along with Greninja, who was dealing with some more robbers, but it was still fun. Later that day, as everyone was getting a rest, Tsunami sadly had to say goodbye. He needed to get back to the village to continue his mission there. After saying another goodbye, Geek and Volt dashed home, barging into their room to read the letters. They weren't disappointed. Everyone's letters were amazing, and they filled Geek and Volt with happiness. Geek read Timburr, Skitty, and Charmander's letters out loud.
"Dear Geek. I'm waiting for ya! Next time you step foot in my town, you're gonna have to face me! Just be ready bro!" Geek read the next one, "Dear Geek and Volt. I know it's been awhile, but hey! I know you guys are having fun, and so are we! Summer Vacation is amazing! Hope Tsunami remembered to give you my pictures and comics I attached to this letter! See you soon!" Then, Geek read the last letter, "Dear Geek and Volt. I thank you again for everything. Saving my hide when I needed it, and making life here just more fun in general. I hope we can see each other again soon, Sincerely, Skitty."
After finishing up with the letters, everyone else was beginning to arrive for dinner, so Geek and Volt went to the dining hall and enjoyed more food and more fun times and stories. All in all, another normal day for the team!
