Geek poked his head around the corner of the old, crumbling walls. Little did anyone know, but behind the barricades was an ancient ruin that even Marowak didn't know about. There were paintings, writings, tablets, and so many other hints that Marowak was just rolling in. Marowak was definitely in paradise right now. They kept going deeper, grabbing and stuffing as many tablets as possible in their bags. Finally, Geek swapped leader role with Volt, who wanted to lead the way for a while.

"You know, Geek, we haven't really ever got to know each other," Wave whispered from behind Geek, "you know, like, REALLY got to know each other."

"I mean, I thought we got to know each other really well at that battle, but, you know," Geek joked.

"I'm never gonna hear the end of that am I?" Wave replied with a hint of laughter in his voice.

"Nope," Geek replied.

But Wave was right. Geek had only really gotten to know Volt really well. Maybe it was just because they were so similar, and that this was a mysterious world to him, but Volt was really his only true friend. Besides Skitty. Skitty had always been there for him, and he was there for her later on. Tsunami was cool, but he never really opened up to Geek. Charmander was fun, but he was constantly drawing or reading comics. Eevee was caring, but she really only stayed around Skitty. Cubone was pretty laid back, but that was it. He was laid back. He was lazy.

"Guys, stop!" Volt whispered loudly as he set his back against the wall.

"What is it?" Marowak asked.

"It's an ORB," Volt replied with wide eyes.

"Unguarded?" Geek asked.

"Heavily guarded," Volt replied as he peeked around the corner again.

"I see a Gigalith, two Tyrunt, and a Drilburr," Volt told everyone as he continued looking in the room.

"Well, is there anything else worthwhile in there?" Wave asked.

"Yes. An entire room filled with tablets and writings, and the word, humans, plastered above it all," Volt answered.

Everyone went silent. They had two options here. They either could wait for backup and storm the place, possibly destroying some of the ruins in the process, or battle them now, destroy the orb, and possibly preserve the more important part of the ruins. They agreed on the later one.

Volt bolted out from behind the corner, taunting the Shadow Pokémon, as they called them, and forced the two Tyrunt to follow him. After they were gone, Wave jumped out and forced the Drilburr to follow him. Once they were gone, Marowak set his bag on the ground and nodded to Geek as he pulled out his bone weapon. The two jumped out and charged the Gigalith, ready to battle.
