Climbing up the dungeon again was pretty easy. Despite the new layout, it was pretty easy to reach the end. They ran past the Pecha Tree and kept going further in. Tsunami had to have gone deeper to try and find more hidden orbs. On their way through the more denser parts of the dungeon, Geek tripped on an ingrown root and hit the ground, hard. He let out a loud yelp of pain as his chin smashed into the ground. He sat up and started rubbing his chin, which got pretty messed up.
"Geez, why does hitting the ground have to hurt so much?" Geek said, already knowing the answer but still asking the question.
"Dude with that yelp I'm pretty sure the whole dungeon heard us," Volt stated.
"Ah never mind that. We need to find Tsunami," Geek replied as he stood up.
Suddenly, from the trees above, a figure landed behind Geek and startled him, sending him backwards and making him trip and fall again. It was Tsunami.
"What was that about finding me?" Tsunami asked as he looked at Geek, who was now laying on his back in pain on the floor.
"Could've given me a warning you know. Would've been nice," Geek weakly complained from the ground.
"Yeah, well, I figured you needed me or else you probably wouldn't have screamed so loud earlier."
"Oh shut up," Geek said as he stood up and looked Tsunami in the eyes.
"Tsunami you need to hide!" Volt began saying.
"What? Why?" Tsunami chuckled as he asked.
"The Explorers of Tomorrow are here. Well, three of them at least, and they're looking for you!" Volt continued.
"Psssh, whatever. Let them try," Tsunami said arrogantly.
"Oh really? You can fight a Squirtle, a Gallade, and a Lucario at the same time?" Volt shot back, giving Tsunami a stare of total seriousness.
"Oh, okay, different story then. Could you possibly fill me in on the details?" Tsunami asked.
So Geek and Volt explained everything. The whole story of what happened after they parted ways. About how they were looking for missing people, like the kind that disappear and get found asleep and are permanently asleep, kind of missing. Then they explained about how the three of them were going to try and find Tsunami to interrogate him to get info about Poliwrath. Then, they finished it off with them meeting here.
"So that's why you need to hide! If they find you, bad things are gonna happen! Or even worse!" Volt exclaimed.
"Pffft, what could be worse than me being found and interrogated? I am one tough Steelix you know," Tsunami replied as he began walking off.
"The only thing I can think of," A voice echoed across the forest, "Is being found by the Explorers of Tomorrow and beaten to a pulp right now."
Wave suddenly crashed down from the trees above, and landed between the group of friends. He stood up straight, not being very tall, but still looked tough and menacing. He pulled out some glasses and put them on, making him look all the more tougher.
"So, you're Tsunami huh? You've caused quite a bit of trouble in the village good sir," Wave said as he crossed his arms.
He paid no attention to Geek and Volt behind him.
"So, Wave, I see you're still your old self eh?" Tsunami said.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. I only know you from the village," Wave quickly replied.
Geek noticed a bit of sweat coming from Wave's head.
Quickly switching to his Aura Vision, Geek scanned Wave. An all around nice guy, but some small dark waves emanated from his head. Probably meant he had a few dark thoughts here and there. Definitely less than Tsunami.
"Oh come on Wave. Don't play dumb with me or them," Tsunami said as he gestured to Geek and Volt.
Wave gave a slight glance behind him to the other two Pokemon with them, "Ah yes. I forgot you two were here. You trying to warn Tsunami we were coming huh? You do realize that means you're all gonna have to come with me right?"
"No, we don't. Just, please, hear us out!" Volt pleaded.
"No can do bucko. Gotta live up to my job. Tsunami, if you want me to throw off my fake game, I will. We never really did like each other did we?" Wave turned his attention back to Tsunami.
His arms unfolded and his fists balled up.
"No. No we didn't," Tsunami replied as his own fists balled up.
"Shall we settle this?" Wave asked.
"We shall," Tsunami replied.
The two blasted forward into combat. Geek and Volt followed close behind.
