Day 9

The next day was very eventful indeed. For starters, Geek and Volt met up with Wave again, who explained that his boss, Lucario, and Gallade understood their story completely. In fact, they had gotten many other stories exactly the same. Feeling relieved a bit from that, Geek and Volt had a very fun day exploring dungeons with everyone else. Wave even joined them for their first exploration. Wave apparently liked exploring dungeons too, although he was mostly a medic. Soon after exploring a few dungeons however, everyone noticed Charmander was missing. After a long time of searching they finally found him, asleep with his drawings in the middle of the forest. Around afternoon time, Geek and Volt were sitting around eating lunch with everyone, when Volt pulled Geek aside for a moment.

"Geek, listen. I know this is gonna be hard for you and it will be for me, but we have to leave," Volt said.

"How exactly are we supposed to do that?" Geek asked as he threw his hands in the air.

"The Explorers of Tomorrow," Volt stated plainly, as if he had explained this to him several times before.

"What? We just go up to Wave and say, 'hey, we want to join your super awesome exploration team, please accept us!?'" Geek sarcastically said.

"That's exactly what we say. Well not exactly but with a few modifications," Volt replied.

"Ok, so we leave the village and join the Explorers of Tomorrow. Then what?" Geek asked.

He wanted to be sure Volt had thought of everything, because he already had a detailed plan of what they should do.

"We do what we've been doing. We explore. We search the world for answers to our problems," Volt explained.

"Sounds pretty straight forward, but that's pretty much what I had in mind. We're going to have to tell the whole team about our little secret though," Geek said as he thought about how they might react to it.

"I know. Nothing is going to be easy for us anymore, but we can't just sit around here and wait for stuff to come to us. We need to go and find the stuff that directly involves us. The orbs are our best lead, so let's investigate those first," Volt was already talking like he was in the Explorers.

"Hey, woah slow down. Let's just take things one at a time okay? First let's get done with today's expeditions, and then we'll talk to Wave. We'll see what we can do," Geek suggested.

"Right, right. Alright let's get back to work," Volt said as they both walked out of the bushes and finished eating their lunches.

The rest of the day was pretty normal. Tsunami joined in on one expedition, although it was only because he thought an orb was somewhere nearby. Finally, the day was over and everyone started heading home. Geek and Volt went over to the Explorer's tent before heading home. As they walked in, they were amazed at how clean and neat everything was. Of course, that might have been because they only used the tent for sleeping and the occasional meeting. Wave was in the back of the tent drawing maps and whipping up some weird concoctions. He finally noticed his guests at the entrance.

"Oh, geez. Geek, Volt, you guys scared me. What's up?" Wave asked as he put down the maps and vials he was using.

"Wave, we have a serious question to ask you," Volt began.

"How can we join the Explorers of Tomorrow?" Geek finished.

Wave stood there, seemingly scratching his head. He looked like he was concentrating on something they couldn't see, but finally he replied to their question.

"Lemme talk to Lucario about it. I'm sure we can work something out," Wave explained.

"Sweet. Thanks Wave!" Volt called out as him and Geek left the tent to head home.

Another normal night, another normal sleep. But then Geek remembered his many anxieties and questions. He stayed up late into the night trying to think of possible answers. Nothing helped his aching mind. Then Geek began thinking about the new life as Explorers. Exploring dungeons, finding secrets, searching the world for the many things and Pokemon that they could find and meet. So many possibilities. Just thinking about it made Geek feel calm, relaxed, and somehow safe. Eventually he dozed off, dreaming of the Pokemon world, once again.
