Geek flew back as Wave used a Water Pulse in all directions. Volt was able to withstand the attack, but Geek and Tsunami both flew backwards a ways. Wave was much stronger than he looked, and he looked really strong. The glasses just made him look so much stronger and tougher. After jumping over Volt, who got thrown at him by Wave's Hydro Cannon, Geek fired an Aura Sphere that connected and launched Wave a few feet away. Before he could recover, Geek was standing in front of him using Extreme Speed. After that, Geek threw down a Thunder Bolt and dealt major damage to him. He quickly bolted up, surrounding himself in a strange orb. Tsunami went into attack with Razor Shell, but Wave blocked the attack and grabbed the shell, then followed with a Knock Off. The shell flew out of Tsunami's hands and landed next to Volt, who was just now getting up from the Hydro Cannon. Volt grabbed the shell and dashed towards Wave. Geek followed close behind.
Wave jumped over Volt and used Knock Off to get rid of the shell again, but before he landed, Geek had slammed a fully charged Aura Sphere into him. Tsunami dashed for the shell, but Wave used another Water Pulse to knock everyone back again. It was Volt's turn now. Dashing forward, Volt used Extreme Speed, slamming into Wave several times. Then, he followed up with a Grass Knot. Wave, who was already off balance, now slipped and fell to the ground, hard. He stood back up, but was struck three times with repeated Thunderbolts. Volt charged in to use Extreme Speed again, but Wave was sick of him now. Wave lept over Volt and Hydro Cannoned him through a tree. Volt wasn't recovering from that for a while. Tsunami stood next to Geek, both out of breath, with shell and Aura Sphere in hand. They attacked together, Tsunami going in for a Razor Shell with Geek providing support via Aura Sphere.
Wave jumped over the Aura Sphere, then jumped off of Tsunami's head. Just before he hit the ground however, he looked up to see Geek smiling. When Wave touched the ground, Geek opened his mouth and fired a massive Dragon Pulse into him. Flying straight into the same place as Volt, Wave laid on some wood with his now broken glasses. He wasn't gonna recover from that soon either. Geek helped Volt up while Tsunami helped Wave back onto his feet. Volt had to have his arm around Geek, he was too tired to do anything on his own now. Wave stood up, accepting his defeat now. He knew he wasn't a match for a Riolu with Dragon Pulse, no matter how tired the Riolu was.
"So what now? I have to report back to my boss what happened here you know," Wave explained.
"Why don't we explain what's really been happening, and then you can report that to your boss eh?" Tsunami suggested.
"Fine, but make it short," Wave replied.
So Geek and Volt, with some help from Tsunami, explained their entire story. They made sure to exclude any part about them being human. They didn't want to lay that on him so early. After a long story, Wave just sat in the dirt with them, contemplating what they had told him. He stood up, thanked them for the battle and the explanation, then left. The three friends now sat alone, in the almost fully dark forest.
"I don't think I like him still," Tsunami said to cut the silence that had been established for a while.
"Yeah so about that, you guys knew each other?" Volt asked curiously.
"Yeah, long time ago. I was a jerk back then, and Wave stood up to me. Eventually Wave left, and I decided to become stronger by fighting dungeons," Tsunami explained.
"Huh, interesting. You mind showing us the way back to the village? I'm getting pretty tired," Geek asked as he yawned.
"Sure. Follow me," Tsunami said.
The journey home was long, but they finally got back. Geek and Volt didn't even say goodbye to Tsunami. They were too tired to do anything. After bringing Volt home, Geek walked to Skitty's house. The Delcatty were asleep, but Skitty lay awake in bed as Geek walked in and laid down on his own bed.
"Geek?" Skitty asked in the silence of the night.
"What?" Geek mumbled as he flipped over to his other side to look at Skitty.
"Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?" Skitty asked.
"Sure, go ahead," Geek replied, half not caring half wanting to care.
"You're a human aren't you?"
The words hung in the air like rotten cheese. Geek was fully awake, staring at the ceiling as his thoughts went spinning. How had she known? How did she figure it out? Would he believe him if he said yes? Geek was suddenly feeling mixed emotions, and the next words that came out just spoke for themselves.
"Yes, I am."
Skitty sighed, then rolled over and didn't say another word. It was as if she had heard that many times before. Like it was normal for her to hear that. Geek felt concerned now. More thoughts entered Geek's mind later. The Explorers of Tomorrow, what did they want? How long would they be here? Would they actually listen to their story? Then, another thought popped into Geek's mind. They were Explorers. They searched the world for anything that included adventure. They also hunted for ancient artifacts and ancient history. What if that was the key to unlocking his and Volt's secrets? What if joining the Explorers of Tomorrow, would bring them closer to finding out their true reasons for being here? It was a possibility he couldn't rule out. Eventually, fatigue caused him to drift asleep again, into another dream of his old life, but then switching over to a life in the Pokemon world. Geek was more interested and more satisfied by the Pokemon dreams now. Maybe, Geek wouldn't return to the human world. Maybe...
