Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers

Day 39

Rushing in as fast as they could, the trio bolted straight for the Explorer's HQ. They went through alleys and smaller shortcuts Lucario and Victini had chosen for people to use when coming in and out of the city. It didn't take long for the group to come smashing into the HQ and get quite a few eyes from onlookers as the group barreled down the hall and into Lucario's office. As soon as they burst in, Lucario and Victini looked up from their work and saw Geek and Volt, surprise and joy suddenly taking root in them.

"Geek! Volt! You guys are ok!" Victini exclaimed happily.

"Yeah! I guess we are," Volt replied with just as much joy. 

Geek liked that about Volt. No matter what situation they were in, Volt tried his hardest to be happy and funny.

"What happened? I mean, we know what happened at the factory and all that but, how are you here?" Lucario asked.

"Honestly, we don't know. We just assumed that the scarves recharged us over time, it just took longer because the blast was straight from Wraith," Geek explained.

"Actually," Victini said, "We might have an explanation for that. You see, with the help of Marowak's notes, we were able to decipher and read the ancient writings. We went and found a third ruin and discovered more about those scarves. Apparently, those things are like rechargeable batteries. They can charge up power, then give all of it to whatever is in contact with them. You two have that unlimited energy, however since Wraith himself absorbed your energy, he was able to suck out the energy from your scarves too. Apparently they recharged even after that."

"Wow, that was a lot to take in but ok, I think I got it," Volt said as he tried chewing in all the information he just got.

"Anything else useful you guys find out?" Geek asked.

"Yeah actually," A familiar voice said from behind the group.

Geek turned around to see Wave, a bandage around his head and one of his legs wrapped up in cloth. One arm had cloth wrapped around his elbow. Geek ran up to him and hugged him, then remembered that he was hit by the blast too. He should have been asleep.

"Wave," Geek asked, slowly backing off from his friend, "how are you here right now?"

"Simple," Wave replied calmly, "I dodged the blast. Well, technically Gallade pushed me out of the way and told me to act like I got hit."

Geek suddenly remembered Gallade shouting something, but the noise made it hard to hear exactly what he said. He guessed that Gallade was shouting to Wave.

"So you came all the way back after that and explained everything?" Volt asked.

"Yep. Thanks to him, we have a better idea of what we're up against," Tsunami said as he slammed his fists together, "plus we know where we're going next."

"We do?" Volt asked again.

"Yes," Lucario said, "Victini, care to explain?"

"Sure," Victini replied as she flew up to a large map of the entire world.

"From what we've gathered, Wraith is somewhere up here," Victini said as she pointed to the top right corner, ocean and smaller islands dotted everywhere, "From what Lapras told me, Wraith has basically created his own little dimension bubble there and mostly does his work from said dimension bubble."

"But, whenever someone tries getting too close to the bubble, they are drained of their energy immediately. The only way we could think of to get in, was those scarves, but only you two could use them. We really were stuck, but now that you're here, we have a fighting chance," Lucario explained.

"Ok, so how do we get there?" Volt asked.

"That's not the easy part. Remember that place Marowak was talking about? The Tower of Legends?" Victini asked.

"Yeah? Wait... Please don't tell me..." Geek replied.

"Yes. We have to go there. What's worse is that the legendary Pokemon we need is at the top. The very top. It's not going to be easy, but we can do it," Tsunami said.

Geek and Volt gave each other a look. They had two options. Either stay back and let the world end, or go the hard route and fight their way to The Tower of Legends and then fight Wraith again. Now that Geek thought about it, they really only had one option.

"Alright," he said confidently, "Let's head to the Tower of Legends."
