Jillian’s POV
Birthday celebration isn’t over yet. We went to visit someone. We’re sitting here for quite a while now. He was just staring at the ground while fixing the flower he brought for her.
To be honest, nung una kong makita ‘yung bulaklak na iyon na binili niya kanina bago kami magpunta dito, akala ko ibibigay niya sa akin iyon but when I was ready to hold them, he made a face and told me they weren’t for me.
They were for his Mom. Isn’t Cyrus sweet? Lagi niyang dinadalhan ang Mommy niya ng flowers, nagkataon lang ngayon ay kasama niya ako sa pagpunta niya dito.
When he was done, he stared at me. “Sayang hindi ka nakilala ni Mommy, ‘no?”
Ngumiti lamang ako.
“Nang ma-ospital si Mommy, lagi ko siyang tinatanong kung bakit niya ako linigtas. It should be me, right? I should be dead right now, but because she lost her life, I’m living. Know what she told me before she passed away?”
“What?” I asked.
“Love means dying for that person,” he said. “Kahit nang tinatanong ko siya kung bakit hindi niya maiwan-iwan si Dad. Love means dying for that person daily, she said. And when you love someone, giving up should never be an option and fighting for each other should be the only choice. She loves my father so much. Minsan nga pakiramdam ko hindi na makatarungan ‘yung pagmamahal niya para sa kaniya. Pero sinabi niya sa akin na kapag minahal mo ang isang tao, hindi mo dapat tinitimbang ang mga pagkukulang at kamalian niya. Love never means having to point at each other’s flaws; rather, it’s seeing someone beyond those imperfections. Bata pa lang ako tinuturo niya na sa akin iyon. She has the kindest heart,” nakangiting kuwento niya.
“I’m not shocked that you are, too,” I told him.
His eyes are smiling at me. “Really?”
I nodded.
He held my hand and he stared at his Mom. “She’s pretty, right? But you’re still the prettiest, Mom.”
Napangiti ako dahil sa sinabi niyang iyon. He loves his Mom so much. Sayang nga lang at hindi ko nakita ang Mommy niya sa personal, sa picture ko na lang siya naabutan.
“When I came back from Canada, I searched for her. Look now, I have seen this girl, I am holding her hand and guess what, I will never let her go,” masayang kuwento niya sa kaniyang ina.
I can’t help but smile. Lumalambot ang puso ni Cyrus kapag siya na ang usapan. Ibang-iba siya kapag ang Mommy niya na ang involve, which is a good note. I’m indeed in love with a Prince who loves his Queen dearly more than his Princess.
“Know what? Wrong move ka,” sabi niya sa akin.
“Ha?”
“My ideal woman is someone who’s like my Mom. And you’re too different from her.” He laughed. “You’re the exact opposite of her.”
