Chapter 58
Laptop's open. Mind wandering somewhere. Lost for words. Don't know how to begin.
It has been two hours and I haven't done anything good enough yet. I am supposed to be writing an article for the January issue of The Gazette but here I am staring at my stupid screen with nothing to do but moon with these four handsome people namely Rian, Zack, Jack and Alex.
I could have been a bit relaxed only if I didn't receive the message from Music and Lyrics, the record label which has been kind of courting me to sign with them. Parang dati lamang ay pina-uusapan namin ito nina Alec pero ngayon ay nandito na sa harapan ko, naghihintay na lang ng sagot ko na, "Oo."
Nagtimpla ako ng gatas at linagay ito sa tabi ko. I closed the other tabs and focused on one thing. I started typing a draft reply on my Gmail account. But every time I do, I end up deleting the whole thing. I crossed my legs and breathe deep.

I sent the message and closed my eyes for a while. I've met Miss Eleanor already. We've been exchanging a lot of messages even before the proposal was made. I can say that we've come to know each other professionally for quite a while. And we personally know each other that's why I believe I do not have to put a lot of wordings in there.
Minsan na nila kaming naging guest sa isang gig somewhere in Eastwood. We hang out for like two times and the rest were just eye contacts-because she's busy with work whenever we come across each other.
While waiting for her reply, I continued what I should have finished a while ago. I have magazines, books and music to help me out on this stuff. But it's kind of hard to pull this altogether. Because whenever I listen to music while I do something, I end up singing the whole song and I often forget that I was supposed to be doing something important rather than pulling a stupid concert of my own.
Pero dahil nagpunyagi naman ako sa ginagawa ko, natapos din ako after a one bloody hour. I sent the article to Nick and he will do the last touch on it. He's really good with making my work a lot better. Nahihiya nga lang ako dahil pakiramdam ko ay pinapahirapan ko siya ng husto.
Nang makaramdam ako ng antok, hinawakan ko na ang aking cellphone para ma-set ang alarm nito. Bago ako matulog, natanggap ko ang reply ni Miss Eleanor. She said that she wants to meet me tomorrow after lunch. I heaved out a heavy sigh before I replied, "Okay."
Hindi ko alam kung ano ang pwedeng mangyari pagkatapos nito, pero mas maganda na siguro kung sasabihin ko na lang sa kaniya ang totoo kong pananaw tungkol sa offer nila sa akin.
Kinabukasan, nagbaon ako ng maraming lakas ng loob. Nagpaalam din ako kay Sir Hanj na half-day lang ako dahil mayroon akong lakad after lunch. Besides the fact that I'm meeting someone, I'll also get my graduation picture. After that, my friends and I will meet each other to go at the wake of Keith's father. He died last January 28, at the middle of the night. Cyrus has already visited him on the first wake, but sadly, I wasn't there because I had to run some errands.
Sa Legaspi Village lang naman ang main office ng Music and Lyrics. That's only a ten-minute drive minus the traffic. But of course, it's Makati, so yeah, 30 minutes.
They are located few blocks away from Prudential Guarantee. That means, it's just really a good move to go here during the daytime because when the dawn comes, this place nearby will become a nightlife district. I'm no fan of clubs, anyway.
"Uhm, excuse me. I'm meeting Miss Eleanor today," I said to the receptionist. They have couches and magazines of different sorts on the table. The place was all white with a touch of black.
"For a while, Ma'am," aniya. She dialled the number on the telephone. She was nodding her head while she speaks. After their conversation, she faced me with a smile and said, "Please go ahead, Ma'am. Third door, right side."
"Thanks!"
