Chapter 40
Jillian’s POV

“Guys, could you help us, please?” begged Valerie, one of the members of Negative Zero.
Tumigil kami sa ginagawa namin at pinagmasdan namin siya ni Aicelle. “What for?” she asked.
“We’re conducting an audition para sa bagong batch since a lot of our members are Seniors,” she explained.
I narrowed my stare. “And then?”
“And then, we want to ask you to help us with the auditions. We can’t do it alone especially karamihan sa mga kasama ko ngayon bago pa lang. May emergency kasi si Mikko kaya hindi siya makakapunta.”
Aicelle rolled her eyes out of annoyance. We are busy with something and she hates being bothered. Focus is her middle name, you know. And she’s not going to let anyone ruin that.
“You have ACES,” she said. “Why us? The last time I checked, The Gazette ‘yung Organization namin at hindi NZ, right?”
“Don’t fret too much!” I hissed. She’s being too nosy, minsan lang naman mag-ask ng favor ang iba sa amin, eh.
“Fine. Half day ‘to ‘no?” tanong ko sa kanila. I looked at my wristwatch, maybe we’ll continue with our own stuff after this. Kanina pa rin naman kami nag-aasikaso dito, eh. “We have to do some fixing first and we’ll follow, how about that?”
“Okay! Thanks, Jill!” she giggled.
“Thanks my nose,” Aicelle blurted out.
“Don’t mind her, she’s turning into a hellcat,” I kidded. She nudged me because of it. Natawa na lang kami ni Valerie. Umalis na siya after that kaya tumigil na sa panggagalaiti si Aicelle.
I faced her after crossing my arms. “You know what, if you’re mad with the woman because she likes Keith, blame his Mom for bearing a handsome son.” I said without aforethought. It came out from my mouth just like that.
“Am I that obvious?” she asked—still with her baffled face. I blithely nodded my head.
She threw herself into the couch and said, “I’m tired of waiting, Jill. I feel like drawing a blank. It’s been a month at wala pang nangyayari. I’ve been tailing him for quite a while and I see no progress. I don’t think he’s going to like me.”
“Ang hina mo naman, girl!” Hinampas ko ang balikat niya. “Why are you quitting that easily? He admitted it, right? He likes you, too. What’s there to vex about?”
“Drunken heart, sober thoughts?” She mocked me. “Come on, ang desperate ko na nga noon, eh! Grabe ka!”
Natawa ako dahil sa sinabi niyang iyon. The thing is, linasing niya si Tweety noong victory party namin. After noong production, nagkaroon kami ng party sa Dolce Vita and poor Keith was so drunk and Aicelle took that chance to ask him about different stuff.
