Chapter 18

-Sofie-

Nakakalayo na ko ng kaunti pero biglang may humawak ng braso ko. Pagtingin ko si Kelvin. Siya lang naman ang pinakamalapit na tao sa likod ko para hawakan ang braso ko ng hindi ko nalalaman.

"What?" I said and note the sarcasm.

"Could we talk?"

"Why are you going to talk to her? To make her again confuse?" Biglang sabi ni Jaylord, who is now besides me.

"I want to explain my side." He said.

"After you said to her that you used her to forget me? Kelvin you are such be a jerk. I know you love her so much but why you do that to her?" Yannezza said to him.

"Leave her to me, Kelvin. I already give you a chance. Akala niyo bang dalawa na hindi ko alam na magkasama kayong umalis para magkasama? Kelvin, I am the son of the owner of the Orion University and I am the boyfriend of your cousin who is blinded by the love she has on you. But we both know na mahal niya tayong dalawa. But the question here is who she loves more than the others? I gave you the chance to be with her so that if she loves you more than I am, I am willing to give her to you and I will be the bestfriend she always has but you make her wounded and tell her that she's being used to forget my sister." Dirediretsyo niyang sabi.

Alam niya na magkasama kami kaya pala hindi siya nabigla ng sinabi ko yun pero ang kinabigla niya yung time na sinabi ko na iniwan ako ni Kelvin.

*Flashback*

 

When I woke up the next day I didn't saw Kelvin anymore in my bed or in any part of the house. I only saw a letter in the table saying: I'm sorry. But this is not going to work between us. Hanggang mag pinsan lang talaga tayo.

 

Iniwan na niya ko. Why would he do that? Why, when I finally realized that I love him. I love him but I also love Jaylord. Ang sakit pagkatapos ko siyang bigyan ng pagkakataon saka niya ko iniwan. I don't know what's gotten in my mind when I called Jaylord. Hindi ako nakasagot agad sa Hello niya.

"Umiiyak ka ba?" Sagot agad ni Jaylord.

"I'm sorry." That was all I say.

"Kung nasaan ka mang lupalop ng Pilipinas, alam kong nasa Pilipinas ka, go back here and tell it in front of me why are you saying sorry. But since you are crying can you drive back here?" he asked.

"Yeah." I said even my voice was rough due to my crying.

"Alright but don't cry on the road baka maaksidente ka pa."

"I'm sorry." I said again.

"Tell that in front of me. Have a safe trip going here and I love you." He said before he hangs up.

I calm myself before going to OU and I did that like without a hard time. When I already entered the facility, I saw him there standing, his arms are across his chest and he is leaning on the wall. And my tears that I am fighting along the way I am going here fell like a faucet and hug him tightly and keep saying sorry.

"What happened?" He asked. I looked at him in the eyes before saying. "I'm sorry. Nakipagkita ako kay Kelvin eh. I want to know kasi kung ano talaga nararamdaman ko."

"And?" He said like he is not in shock. He is really good in poker face.

"He left after –"

"After something happens between you two." He said and finished the sentence for me. I only did was, is to nod.

"Jaylord, I think –"

"Don't you dare ever say that we have to cancel our engagement. Loving and choosing me was enough for me to be engaged with you. Loving and choosing me was enough for me to be your husband." He said before kissing my lips.

Why do I have so much understanding boyfriend, I mean fiancée?

*End of Flashback*

 

"Magkapatid kayo?" Kelvin suddenly said to both of them. Sobra akong occupied sa nakaraan kaya hindi ko naalala na hindi niya pala alam na magkapatid sila.

"Oo, Kelvin. Magkapatid kami. Hindi mo ba napansin siguro bakit simula pa noong highschool pa tayo kinukulit na kitang maging kaibigan ko? Hindi mo napansin bakit madali kang nakapasok sa OU? Jaylord did everything para maalagan ka para hindi ka mapariwara because he knew that you are so important to Sofie but what did you did? You hurt her and you keep hurting her. Isa lang ang pakiusap namin sa iyo. Let Sofie move on and bring back the past. Bring back the feelings she has on you, the feelings that you are her cousin and not as a lover." With that Yannie drag me out of Kelvin's sight.

Three days are past at ginawa naman ni Kelvin ang sinabi ni Yannie. During class namin together hindi niya ko pinapansin at wala rin naman akong balak na kausapin siya. Saka ko na siya kakausapin kapag sigurado na kong hindi ko na siya mahal.

I was in my dreamland when the bell rang and I hurriedly went out of the room. Hindi pa ako masyadong nakakalabas ay nakita ko na siya. He wearing his navy blue denim pants and simple creamy shirt with sunglasses on his eyes.

"Is the sun is inside of the hallway?" I asked and he come near and said. "Yes it is and I am looking at her right now." While he is taking off his sunglasses.

"Tol maawa sa langgam!" sabi ni JC.

"Oo nga baka mainggit itong si Katsumi." Sabi naman ni Lester. Oh I forgot to tell, si JC at si Seth na lang ang walang girlfriend sa kanila. Well, Seth is courting someone at konting push na lang at mapapasagot na niya.

"Why I couldn't call you Karl like what Yannie keeps calling you?" I asked and Jaylord cling his arms on my shoulders.

"He only allowed that to hers because that's what he means by Family." He said.

"Kaya kung maging kayo ni JM, I mean kapag magasawa na kayo ni JM at magasawa na kami ni Yannie doon niyo lang ako pwedeng tawaging dalawa na Karl."  With that I am feeling contented for a little while though.

I really need to move on fast.
