"And where is it you want me to take you to?" Cameron asked as we both got into his car.

"To my job interview." I said, putting my seatbelt on.

"A job interview? What are you applying for?" He asked.

"Mum's friend has a position that needs filling in. He needs a personal assistant, and I could do with the money."

"So, you thought you'd step into that role, and try to get the job?" Cameron cut in.

"Correct." I smiled.

"That explains why you're dressed the way you are." He said, eyeing me up and down.

"W-what? Do I look bad?" I asked, suddenly becoming very self conscious.

"No! You look really good! Trust me."

"It suits you." He complimented the outfit.

"Thank you."

The atmosphere in the car had changed. It was slightly awkward. That was mostly how I felt. I don't know how Cameron feels right now.

"So, I was wondering- you know, if you would like to. Erm, well- come to the masquerade with me? Just us, together. You know, away from the others."

He wanted us to go together?

"Why the sudden change?" I asked.

We were originally meant to go as a group, with the girls and Theo.

"Do you want the truth?" He asked.

"Well, obviously."

I was beyond confused.

"I just want us to go together, alone."

He wants us to go alone?

"As friends?" I said with a smile.

"Yes. Unless you wanted us to be something else." He responded with a smirk.

"Stop!" I blushed.

He let out a deep chuckle, causing my heart to beat faster.

I always find romantic films cliche. The whole 'you can feel your heart beating faster when your crush laughs'. I never believed in it. But then again, I never believed in love, until my first relationship. I only ever felt loved by him. But that's long gone now.

"Okay, okay. Sorry. You didn't answer me though." He pointed out.

True.

"What if I say no?"

He gasped.

"Yasmin. I have never been rejected before!"

His boosted ego added humour to this situation.
