Next Day

"You're a heavy sleeper." Cameron murmured.

We both woke up ten minutes ago, and never bothered to get out of bed. We just spoke.

"That's not a bad thing." I said, chuckling afterwards.

He helped me to sleep throughout the whole night, without screaming or being drenched in sweat like I usually do.

"Your Mom literally walked in during the middle of the night. I had to hide in your wardrobe." He explained.

"You could have gone home." I suggested.

"No. I promised I'd stay with you." He said.

His eyes were now fully open, and his focus was fixed on me.

I expressed a shy smile.

"We need to get ready for the academy." He said, as he got up from my bed.

At this point, I also got up. I stretched my body before responding.

"I'll see you there then."

"Drive safe." He said, pecking my cheek, before escaping from my bedroom window.

"Damon was harsh on you last night." Caroline remarked.

"No shit." I mumbled.

She has a way of rubbing failures into your face. I don't like it, at all.

"Maybe it's because her self defence has improved, a lot!" Elena said defensively.

"I doubt it." I scoffed.

"Well don't. Because you are doing incredibly well, Yasmin." Elena reassured, causing me to smile.

I've always saw Elena as a nice person. She's caring of others, and puts others forward before herself. She's genuine.

"How's the pain?" Caroline asked softly.

Her attitude changed quickly.

"Cameron took it away." I answered.

She nodded in return.

"Any updates with the dead pool?" Caroline asked Elena.

"No one from the academy is on the list. That's all I know."

"You mean no one supernatural." I cut in.

She nodded in return.

Caroline turned to look at me, wide eyed.

"D-does that mean-" She said, only to be cut off by me.

"That I could be on that list? Yes. Yes it does."

"How do you feel about that?" Caroline asked hesitantly.

"Not good, Caroline. Not good at all." I responded, shaking my head.

"You'll be fine, Yasmin." Elena said, and Caroline nodded in agreement.

My phone buzzed in my hand. I looked to find a message from Cameron.

Cameron - The list has shortened. It's gone down from 100 to 89 people. We still can't access the first ten names.

I repeated the text to the girls, only to receive looks of confusion.

"So, eleven people have already died?" Elena asked.

I nodded.

"How? By what?" Caroline also asked.

"Or maybe by who." I cut in, only to receive curious glances from the girls.

"We need to find out who's doing this." Elena said.

Both Caroline and I nodded.

"Let's go!" Elena said, standing up.

Both Caroline and I followed her, as we went off to start our own investigation.

Candice's P.O.V

In front of me was half of the list of the dead pool. Both Mum and Adeline glanced at it curiously.

"What do the numbers represent?" Mum asked.

"It's how much someone is worth." Adeline explained to her.

"So this person is only worth three dollars?" Mum asked, pointing out to a random name.

It read, Victoria Dunby - 3.

"It's a betting game, so I highly doubt somebody would bet three dollars to kill someone." Adeline said, sounding like she knew something.

"Could it be be three hundred?" Mum asked.

Neither Adeline or I responded.

My mind tried to process the information in front of me. I then remembered reading something from Yasmin's printed research. That girl sure does love to look into things. I guess it's how she knows so much.

"How about three million." I said.

Both of them looked up at me in shock.

"There's been a dead pool list with celebrity names on it, back in England." I stated, remembering the research I read.

"People who killed the celebrities, won millions of pounds, never anything less. It encouraged more and more people to do it, and the list just continued to grow." I finished.

"If she's worth three million dollars, how much would those from the first list be worth?" Mum said, pointing at Victoria Dunby's name.

"A lot more." I said, as I begun to feel worried.

"Could we be on that list?" Mum asked, shakily.

"The dead pool has to have people on it for a reason. I don't think we'll be put on it. Yasmin said that the whole list is only filled with human names." I explained.

"B-but I'm not supernatural. That means-." Mum's voice came out scared.

She stopped herself, and I could tell what she was thinking. The possibility of her being on that list frightened me too.

"You'll be fine." Adeline cut in.

A sudden determination crossed her face.

"I'll make sure of it." She said, as she walked off.

I found myself confused at her statement. My gut tells me she knows something.
