"I can't believe we have to return back to the academy today." Katherine groaned.
After what had happened on Christmas Day, which was one week ago, Katherine had apologised to Candice and I for the way she behaved. However, she still had occasions where her temper would be short. She definitely isn't the same anymore. There's something I can't quite figure out just yet.
"It's only for six hours. You'll live." I said, as I drove into the academy's car park.
As I parked, Katherine, Candice and I noticed men dressed in black around different parts of the academy.
"What's going on here?" I found myself asking.
"You tell me." I heard Katherine mutter.
I turned to look at her.
"I wouldn't know. That's why I asked." I scoffed.
Katherine rolled her eyes before responding.
"It's a figure of speech. You're not suppose to reply back to that."
We all walked towards the entrance together, eyeing the anonymous men. Suddenly, Lila Salvatore stood in front of us.
"My office, now." She demanded.
Us girls looked at each other in confusion, before following Lila. We all headed into her office, and stood by her desk.
"Right. You two." Lila started, pointing at myself and Katherine.
"Those men that you have probably already noticed, are assigned to protect you both. I've been made aware of your names being on the dead pool list." She explained.
Katherine had a look of confusion.
"Hold up. My name is on that list?" Katherine asked.
Lila looked at her with a confused expression.
"Katherine. Do you not know?" She asked.
"Know what?"
I shut my eyes, letting out a huff. Katherine was never made aware of the final part of the list. Purely because I didn't want her knowing.
"You're second on the list, Katherine." Lila revealed.
I heard a gasp, assuming it was Katherine.
"I'm what?!" She exclaimed.
"Yasmin made the top." Lila continued, only making this entire situation worse.
I glared at her, as I felt Katherine's gaze on the side of my face.

I did the worst thing, and ignored her. That had made the answer obvious to her.
