Everything around me came to a pause. I felt my heart beat faster.

"Please, Yasmin. I need you to understand why I do this. It's to help us." Mum starts to explain.

"It helps us to do what, Mum? Mhm?" I fired back.

"To avenge for your father's death!" She fired back, as tears filled her eyes.

"He died in a car crash, Mum."

"No. No he didn't." She said, vigorously shaking her head.

"They killed him. Them bloodsuckers bled him dry."

Once again, I was left in a state of shock.

"You need to explain everything to me, now." I demanded from her.

Next Day

"They ran your father off road and killed him."

"I do this for you, Yasmin."

"We need to stick together."

"Us hunters stick to our code."

"We kill those who kill us."

"Are you with, or against me, Yasmin."

Those distinct memories from last night kept rattling with my mind. She let out the truth, the whole truth. Honestly, I was scared. More scared now that I could die at any moment.

"I need you to come round Candice's house, after school." Mum instructed, whilst I was putting on my shoes.

"Okay." I muttered blankly.

I was in no mood to argue with her, until she said the following.

"I don't want you hanging with that boy, either. So stay away from him."

That boy being Cameron.

"I can hang out with who ever I want to." I spat back, before walking out of the house.

I looked across the street, at Cameron's house. There was one car parked on the driveway. That car being Gina's. Cameron obviously left to go to school. Sighing as I got in the car, I turned the engine on, and drove off.

"Don't you have a lesson?" Elena said, as she sat across from me.

I was seated in the library, revising as per usual.

"No. I'm on my free period." I responded.

"Fair enough."

"What are you revising for?" She asked.

"Business." I answered.

"You?" I asked, looking towards her collection of books.

"This." She said, placing a book between us.

It read - The Encyclopedia of Supernatural Creatures.
