"How are you feeling now?" Mum asked, handing me a cup filled with tea.
"I'm okay, Mum. The medication has helped." I responded.
On several occasions, Cameron had offered me his blood, to speed up the healing process. But I refused. Instead, I relied on my strong medications.
"I'm glad, sweetheart."
We were both seated in the living room, watching TV. All of a sudden, Mum's phone rang.
"Hello." Mum said to the person on the phone.
I listened to her speak to the mysterious individual.
"Are you sure?" I heard her say.
Sure about what?
"Okay. Thank you." She said, before hanging up.
"I've got some good news." She said, directing her gaze onto me.
"Your name is no longer on the list. You're safe for now." She informed, something which I knew already.
But I had to act as if I was unaware.
"How is that possible?" I asked.
"They must think you died from the car crash." Mum said.
I wasn't so sure of it.
After a few minutes of silence, I spoke up.
"I'm heading up to my room."
I paced up the stairs, and headed into my bedroom. I heard my phone ping. I knew what to expect. Grabbing hold of my phone, I unlocked it to find a text message.
Cameron - Want me to come over?
Me - Yeah, whenever you're free.
Cameron - Give me 5.
I quickly went to the bathroom to freshen myself up. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I headed back into my room. I locked my bedroom door, before heading towards my bed. However, I froze in my place, when I saw a figure, facing away from me.
I turned my head towards my door handle, contemplating on how to make my move. I took one step, before the stranger spoke.
"I wouldn't if I were you."
I froze again, this time feeling more frightened. I knew that voice. I've heard it before.
Slowly, I looked back towards the figure. My eyes widened in horror. I was about to scream, but he had sped his way towards me, pushing me against my bedroom door and covering my mouth with his hand.
"Canim kizim. Yapma."
Canim kizim. Yapma - My dear daughter. Don't do it.
It was him. My dad. I couldn't believe it. He was here, directly in front of me. I took in his features, shocked at how alike we were. His features had slightly changed, obviously due to turning into a vampire. His eyes were red, only meaning one thing.
"I'm going to remove my hand. Please don't scream. I haven't come here to hurt you." He said softly.
How could he expect me to trust him? After all that he has done.
"Do you promise not to scream?" He said, looking deep into my eyes.
I nodded numbly.
Slowly, he removed his hand from my mouth.
