Prologue

I sighed heavily as soon as we arrived at Coco resort after hours of being stuck in the traffic. Medyo may kalayuan naman talaga 'tong resort mula sa bahay namin but we have to go here because my parents are meeting some important clients and they brought us with them so that we can enjoy our summer vacation.

"You don't look like you're happy being here lil Haylee," my sister said and laughed.

We're here in our room and our parents left us to meet their so called "important clients".

"I would be happier at home or at the compa---" she cut me off before I could finish the last word.

"And what, learn how computer works?" she said and rolled her eyes.

"Oh come on, Haylee you're too young for that. You're just nine. You should be playing with kids your age instead of staying at home or in our company facing nothing but your gadgets."

"I don't like playing with them Ate, kids are so annoying." I told her as I crossed my arms.

She just stared at me like I grew another head. Tsk, totoo naman talaga. Playing is fun until there's one who'll end up crying because he can't accept that he's losing the game. Then he'd be like 'You're making fun of me. I'm going to tell this to my Mom bla bla bla' it's so annoying.

"How about Nathalie?" she asked pertaining to my cousin.

"Well Nathalie is an exception. I like her. She always do braids on my hair."

"Salamat naman kung ganon, at least maiisip ko pa ring normal ang kapatid ko kahit papano," aniya at huminga nang maluwag.

"Whatever." 'yon na lang ang nasabi ko pagkatapos ay tumayo mula sa pagkakaupo sa sofa.

I grabbed my tablet and put it inside my sling bag.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"I'm going to the lobby. I'm getting bored here already."

"oof, that hurts lil Haylee. Boring na pala akong kasama ngayon. Gusto ko pa naman sanang mag swimming na kasama ang kapatid ko pero mukhang ayaw niya. This is so sad!" madramang sabi niya sabay hawak sa kaniyang dibdib at umaktong nasasaktan.

I shook my head and chuckled. My sister will not be my sister if she isn't acting like that.

"Quit it Ate, I know it will take you ages to get yourself ready for swimming and I don't want to die here waiting so start preparing now and I'll be at the lobby."

"Tss, bata ka pa kasi! When you grow up, you'll take ages too to dress up!" she reasoned out and rolled her eyes.

Tsk, teens.

"Yeah yeah, whatever Ate, see yah!" sabi ko at naglakad na palabas ng kwarto. I was about to close the door when my sister called me.

"Haylee! Make sure you'll be at the lobby. Don't wander around without me okay?"

"Okay." I said as I closed the door.

When I reached the lobby, a lady in black caught my attention. Siya lang kasi mag isa ang nakaupo rito. Nakaharap siya sa laptop niya habang sumisimsim ng kape. Wala lang, parang ang lakas ng dating niya.

Tss, bakit ko ba siya tinitingnan?

I sat in a chair not far from where she is and I immediately opened my bag to get my tablet. The reason why I want to spend my vacation at our company is because I got to play with gadgets like this. Hindi lang kasi ito ordinaryong gadget lang. The features of this gadget is not comparable to the ones played by kids my age. I don't play candy crush or dress up. I play with codes.
