Chapter 40

BLACK VENOM'S men were coming out from everywhere, attacking us. Marami nga sila at mukhang hindi sila maubos-ubos. Good thing was our agents were trained to fight multiple enemies at once. Plus, the enemy did not expect our arrival so they weren't prepared.

Most of them fought us using hand-to-hand combat. Wala pa akong nakalaban na may dalang baril. I did not want to criticize their security and unpreparedness but I just can't believe thay call themselves members of a mafia. They should be prepared for surprise attacks like this. But, then again, I won't complain. They're doing us a favor for being too careless, anyway.

Lamang lang sila sa bilang pero sigurado akong matatalo namin sila ng walang kahirap-hirap.

I took a quick look at my wrist watch and sighed when I already wasted five minutes fighting goons, when I should be heading straight to Black Venom's study.

"Anna," pagkuha ko sa atensiyon niya.

Binitawan ko ang kalaban kong wala nang malay matapos kong suntukin ng ilang beses sa leeg. Humarap naman si Anna sa akin matapos mapatumba ang kalaban niya.

"Go get Arnabeth and Jude Collins, ako nang bahala kay Ms. Dela Vega."

She gave me a nod before making her way up to the grand staircase. Nang makita ko ang isang lalaki na balak habulin siya ay kaagad na kinuha ko ang chain weapon na nakapulupot sa bewang ko at inihagis sa may paa niya. Nang pumulupot ang dulo nun sa kaliwang paa niya ay marahas ko itong hinila na ikinatumba niya.

I tugged the chain to untangle it from his leg and used it to stop another man who's about to attack me. Napansin kong parami ng parami ang umaatake sa akin kaya mas binilisan ko ang pagpapatumba sa mga kalaban.

Tsk, I need to get to Ms. Dela Vega now!

I was busy fighting Black Venom's men when I heard multiple gun shots. In just a second, three men fell on the floor. The other one who's coming at me with a dagger suddenly stopped and screamed in pain when a combat knife pierced his leg.

Bumaling ako sa may pinto ng mansion kung saan nakatayo sila Fear at Tear na kararating lang. They were wearing their masks now. I rolled my eyes when I saw Fear playfully blowed on the muzzle of her gun and Tear was playing with her dagger, tossing it up in the air and then catching it again.

"Hey! Don't look at us like that," Fear said. "We arrived on time but we had to take care of the goons getting in our way, outside."

"Yeah right! Ang dami pala nila, but don't worry Harmy, we got your back. Kami na balaha rito. Go!"

"Thanks!" Sabi ko pagkatapos ay tumakbo paakyat ng hagdan.

I called Anna's name through the earpiece. Malapit na ako sa kinaroroonan nila Black Venom at kailangan kong malaman kung ano nang nangyayari kila Arnabeth.

["Nandito na ako. Ako nang bahala sa kanila."]

"Good. Take care!"

Napatigil ako sa pagtakbo at maingat na naglakad papalapit sa isang lalaking nakatayo sa may pinto pero nakatalikod sa akin. Inihanda ko ang chain weapon ko. Nakabukas ang pinto kaya narinig ko ang galit na boses ni Chelsea sa loob.

"Anong sinasabi mo na inaatake tayo?! Sino?! And why are you here when you should be killing them?!"

"My apologies lady Chelsea, our men are fighting with them now, we won't fail you."

I quietly strangled the man from behind using my chain weapon. I pulled him away from the doorstep and made him lie on the floor so that the people inside the room wouldn't see us. Lumikha pa siya ng maliit na ingay pero hindi naman nila napansin sa loob. Naupo ako sa may tiyan niya habang pilit siyang kumakawala.
