"Haylee?"

I stilled when I heard a knock on my door. I took a quick look at the time and saw that it was time for dinner. That explained why my Mom's calling me.

I quickly hid my laptop under my blanket.

"Haylee?" I heard Mom's voice but I didn't move.

"Haylee, don't do this to me, please. You're barely eating. Nag-aalala na ako, anak."

I felt a sting of guilt inside me. I'm sorry Mom.

"I know losing your sister pained you a lot," I heard her say. "But please, don't do this to yourself. Hanee won't like it if she knew that you're not eating well."

My Mom was right. And I was sure Ate Hanee would not like it too, if she knew what I was doing. But I had to do it.

I heard my Mom heaved out a sigh before leaving my room. I opened it and resumed sending death threats to Emmanuel Salazar— my sister's ex-boyfriend.

I will make whoever killed her, pay!

My goal was to make him fly back to the Philippines. I know my sister won't like this but I won't let him live in peace when my sister died because of him.

I saw him walking out of the airport this afternoon. I could not hack on their database to get information about the passengers. My expertise in hacking was not that good yet. Baka magkamali ako at mahuli. I could not afford to bring that kind of trouble to my family. Lalo pa ngayon. So I had to stick with tapping into their CCTV cameras. That thing was safer and just a piece of cake for me.

My hand fisted when I received a message from him.

'I'm sorry Haylee. I failed to protect her.'

I tracked his location using his number.

I snuck out of the house and rode a taxi to a private cemetery where my sister was buried. I could not accept her death that I did not go to her wake. And that was when she was lowered, 6 feet below the ground.
