The next day, you both woke around noon, tending to sleep in more often. When you opened your eyes, you found that Rick had pulled you close to him in the night, his arms around your side as he laid behind you. You smiled warmly and stretched as best you could, feeling him stir behind you. You heard a light groan before he moved, pulling his arms from around you and sitting up. "Morning, (Y/N)." You still absolutely adored his morning voice, rolling onto your back and smiling up at him. "Really, though, it's noon, so," you stretched, "good afternoon." Rick shook his head and smiled sleepily, leaning down and placing a short, sweet kiss on your lips before he moved to the end of the bed, hopping off and grabbing his outfit for today.
You swung your legs over the edge of the bed and yawned before grabbing your phone and checking your notifications as you did every morning. With a sigh, you fell back onto the bed and held your phone above your face, scrolling through FaceBook and YouTube notifications. Before long, your phone was lightly pulled away and Rick hovered above you. "Give baaaack." You held your hands above you like a child searching for his bottle. "Heeeyyyyyyy."
Rick chuckled and set your phone onto the nightstand before moving back to you. He laid on top of you, burying his face below your chin and sighing. You laughed, running your fingers lightly through his hair, "Attack of the cuddle bug in training." Rick moved his head, resting his chin lightly on you and looking up. "How may I help you this morning, huh?"
Rick smiled up at you while you placed your hands between his shoulder blades, lightly rubbing his back. "I love you," he whispered. His smile never faltered, he didn't expect you to say it back. He knew you'd say it when you were ready to and he promised never to push you. You smiled back down at him, but your heart gave a small squeeze. You wanted to say it. You wanted to scream it for all the world to hear. You wanted him to hear it. You said it before, you told him you were in love with him, you had even managed to say his name, but you couldn't bring yourself to say it again. He nuzzled back down, laying his cheek on your chest, "I know you love me, too." You placed your hand on his head and chuckled, "Yes I do."
Rick sighed quietly before he sat back up and moved around his room. You stood, "I'm gonna go grab my bag from downstairs." Rick was pulling his sweater over his head as he replied, the material slightly muffling his voice as he said a quick 'ok'. Laughing lightly, you wandered down the stairs and grabbed your bag from the living room, finding the family sitting and watching tv. "Morning, folks." You smiled, receiving several in response, before you made your way back upstairs.
The shower was running as you walked past and back into Rick's room, so you could only assume Rick would be a minute. You shut his door and changed quickly before walking back downstairs, the shower now off as you could hear shuffling from the bathroom.
You set your knapsack next to the couch before sitting on the floor, the couch having been taken up by Beth, Morty, and Summer. Morty was sitting near Jerry, both talking about something retarded and laughing. Beth rolled her eyes and focused on the cartoons before her. It was only minimally surprising to find that the entire family enjoyed cartoons as much as I did.
You tuned into the cartoon for only a few minutes before Rick walked into the room. "Oh where, oh where could my eugh Igor be?" You slowly stood up, peeling your eyes from the cartoons and finding Rick leaning over the back of the couch, near Beth. She was laughing quietly and smiling at you while you wandered over. "I dunno. Thought you were supposed to be babysitting." Rick rolled his eyes and stood, "Really, kid, when aren't I?" With a quiet laugh, you wandered into the kitchen as Rick followed behind.
"Remember when I complained about you guys not having anything other than apples? Yea, I didn't mean replace it all with bananas." You laughed and set the bunch further back on the counter, grabbing a bowl and spoon. You grabbed a box of Rice Krispies and poured some in the bowl, holding off on the milk and sugar for a minute. While Rick went around grabbing his own breakfast, you cut half a banana into smaller pieces and dumped it into the bowl, sprinkling sugar over top, "I take it back. Good choice, whoever did the shopping last." After you managed to snag the milk from Rick and pour it into your bowl, you sat at the table, eating and waiting for him to sit down.
"No wonder you're so weird. Always eating those damn Fruit Loops." Rick sat with the colorful breakfast before him, laughing at your comment. "You're so weird."
"Shush, eugh kid. You know you love me, especially 'cause I'm weird." You nodded, appearing thoughtful for a moment before smiling, "That I do. That is a true."
