"Hi, how may I help you today?" A blonde girl from behind the counter in the flower shop asked me.

"Just a twenty dollar bouquet of red roses please," I said and she got a bouquet of red flowers. I paid her and she handed me the flowers. "Thanks."

"Come again." She smiled.

I walked out to the car and sat the roses on the passenger seat. On the way to Katies place I sang along to songs that I knew on the radio. I got there about two minutes later and knocked on the door.

Her dad opened the door and greeted me with "hi Brandon, c'mon inside!"

"Hi and thanks," I greeted.

"She's upstairs. Still asleep I think." He smiled. I thanked him and ran up the stairs. I opened her door silently and shut her door when I was in her room. I put the roses on her wooden bedside table and jumped on her bed.

She groaned and threw a pillow at me.

"Why are you here so early?" She mumbled, with her head buried in her pillow.

"I have to go for work," I said wrapping my arms around her. She is wearing duck pajamas... I like them. "Happy Valentines day!"

"You too," She gave me a quick kiss then buried her head back in her pillow.

"I'd love to spend Valentines Day with you today but I have to go teach little shits. Call me if you need anything and I left you some things on your table. Good luck on your game today!" I said and sat up in her bed.

We kissed again before I got up. I said "I love you"and she said "love you too."

I got in my car and drove to my old school. When I got there, I grabbed the backpack and walked to my office.  I was immediately greeted by my old teachers and I set up everything. Thank god it's swimming carnival. I've got the teachers shirt on and quicksilver board shorts. I sat down for the next half an hour before the bell rang and everyone made their way to the hall.

I stood up the front in front of my roll class, 8G1. The 'G' is for the sporting group. In school I was a Sport Captain for green gorillas at our school along with Katie. The other sport groups are Red Rhinos, yellow yaks and the blue badgers.

"Here's the class roll." The deputy principal handed me a clipboard.

"Thanks," I said and opened up the clipboard when he walked away. It had a row of surnames in alphabetical order and the next one had a row of first names. I bent down to the girl in front of me. "Are you in eight G one?"

"Yeah," She said quietly.

"Can you please help me with the roll?"

"Sure."

"Cathrine Ant?"

She looked behind her, looking at the line.

"She's here." She turned back around to me and I put a diagonal line next to Cathrine. I kept asking for names and she answered. Everyone came today! The rules where told before we all left on buses. Everyone from last year kept asking if I was a sport captain.

Boys and girls races and novelty events where on that went for about four hours. Then, the teacher vs student swim off was on.

"What team am I on?" I asked my old HPE teacher, Mr Namer. He gives everyone nicknames so his last name suits him.

"Teachers team, Captain. We lost last year because you where on the students team. You broke every freaking record."

"I know." I smiled.
