Jackson:

My heart was about to beat out of my chest when the nurse told me and Mark that the doctor was waiting for us. I had never been so nervous before. It was the most exciting moment of my life.

I followed Mark into a room where a white-dressed man was already waiting for us. He shook our hands and looked at me with a smile. "You have to be the lucky father." He said cheerfully.

I nodded a bit and smiled. "Yes. I am the father." I answered him after a short moment. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Dr. Park." He introduced himself with a friendly smile which I politely returned.

"My name is Jackson Wang." I told him what he answered with a nod. I looked over to Mark who had already laid down and lifted up his shirt. This was the first time I saw his belly without anything covering it.

I didn't really know what to do now but the elder gestured me to sit down on a chair next to Mark which I slowly did. He looked up to me and smiled but I could clearly see that he was nervous.

"It's great that you join Mark today. I'm sure he has told you that you'll find out the baby's gender today." The doctor said. "He has and I'm really excited." I admitted what made the old man chuckle.

"That's normal. It's an important moment for the parents to find out what they are going to have. But of course, it's most important that the baby is healthy." He spread a gel on Mark's belly.

"Are you ready to see your baby?" He asked them and grabbed the sonar stick. We both nodded in excitement and the doctor carefully started to move the stick over Mark's round belly.

At first, I only looked at the sonar stick moving over the other's skin but then I slowly got enough courage to look up the monitor where I should see my baby now. I nervously bit my lower lip when I looked up.

It was like the time had stopped and my soul had left my body. There was a small figure on the monitor. The little thing moved a bit and I could even see that he or she had a his or her thumb between the lips.

Wow, this was really my baby. I would really become a father. The picture in front of me woke up so many emotions the same time what made me fear that I would start to cry here and now.

It was a breathtaking moment and I tried to burn this view inside my head. I couldn't even see more than the baby's shape but I already knew that this little human would be beautiful.

He or she would definitely have brown eyes and dark hair which Mark and I had in common. Hopefully, the baby would get his cheekbones and his jawline and my round puppy eyes.

I felt someone tabbing my arm which brought my body back to life. I saw that the doctor was still checking on the baby and that Mark was looking up to me with a small but cute grin on his lips.

"You're crying." He said and giggled softly. I quickly touched my cheeks to feel that he was really right. I hadn't even noticed it. The view of my baby had distracted me from the real world.

"It's just... I... I'm just..." I tried to explain. The elder grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "I know." Was his only answer. I smiled a bit, thankful that it wasn't necessary to explain my feelings.

"Everything looks great. Your baby is growing well and seems completely healthy. This are good news!" Dr. Park told us happily which made me sigh in relief. I felt another squeeze on my hand.

"Just make sure that you don't have too much stress and rest enough so the baby will stay as fine as now. But you already know that of course." The doctor said to Mark who nodded in response.

He placed the sonar stick next to the monitor and turned it off. "I'm going to get your pictures now. I'll be right back." The man explained and handed Mark some paper towels before he left the room.

The elder carefully cleaned his belly with his free hand and pulled his shirt back down before he tried to sit up which took him some moments. I chuckled a bit and placed my hand on his back to help him.

"Thank you." He said with smile and I grinned. "No problem." I answered before it went silence. We both were obviously nervous and the minutes while Dr. Park was gone felt like hours.

I looked down at my hand which was still holding Mark's. I had been thankful when he had taken my hand before. It was a small gesture but it comforted me and told me that I wasn't alone with my emotions.

"Are you nervous?" I asked him to break the silence. He nodded and took a deep breath. "I actually wasn't nervous but now I feel like my heart is exploding." He told me and laughed a bit.

I could relate how he felt because my feelings were similar. My heart was beating faster than ever and I felt like walking back and forth because of the adrenaline running through my body.

I nearly jumped when the door finally opened and Dr. Park walked back in and handed Mark his ultrasound pictures. "I've given you more this time so Jackson gets one, too." He explained to us.

Mark smiled at looked at me before he looked back to the doctor. "He definitely will get one." He said which made me smile. I would put this picture to the first one he had given to me.

The old man looked on his clipboard. "So, do you want to know your baby's gender?" He asked us and I looked at Mark. I wanted him to answer because he was still the one who carried the baby.

The elder nodded quickly. "Of course, we want." He said full of excitement. Dr. Park looked down on his papers and smiled. I nervously squeezed Mark's hand "Congratulations! It's a girl." He finally told us.

Wow... Mark and I would have a little baby girl, a little princess. A smile grew on my face. Mark suddenly pulled me into a tight hug which I returned. This was officially the happiest day of my life.

It's a girl! 🎉

It might be a cliché in such fics that the couple is having a girl but I have to say that I had already chosen the baby's gender and name long before I actually started writing this fic.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
