My first lesson of English Literature went surprisingly well. The teachers were nice and I had a chat with a few people in my class who seemed friendly. It was also a fairly easy lesson as the book we were looking at I had already studied at my old college. I think that's what I love most about English. The fact that I get to read so much, plus it helps me so much with this class.

During my 15 minute break between lessons, I had a quick wander around the college, just to get used to my surroundings.

Two minutes before the bell rang, signalling the end of the break, I started to walk to my next lesson. As I entered my psychology classroom I saw a group of students all huddled around this one desk. Walking further I was able to catch a glance of the boy whose desk it was. He had light brown wavy hair with the most gorgeous hazel eyes. Realising I had been staring for way too long I made my way over to the teacher.

"Hi, I'm Mia Parker, Today's my first day, I'm new." I said to the teacher.

"Ah, yes. They told me I would be getting a new student. It's nice to meet you Mia. I'm Miss Anderson. Take a seat in any empty space, but before you go I just want you to know we are having a test today which I'm afraid you'll have to do. But according to your transfers papers you have already covered Social Influence in your old school so you should be fine considering the grades you received in your previous college." She said whilst smiling.

"That's okay." I said as I made my way to the empty seat in the back corner. I actually like school, I mean I don't love it, but I do love learning, school is probably one of the few things I'm good at. I've always been a bit of a nerd, you can usually find me with my head stuck in a book. I am proud to be a nerd and to be honest I'm not really good at anything else so it's better this way. Especially sports. I suck at sports.

Class has now finished and as I was packing my things up I saw Vanessa outside the class waiting for me to go to lunch. I walked towards her smiling.

"If I knew psychology would make me this happy I would have picked it." Nessa said grinning.

"What?" I say confused.

"You're smiling like a Cheshire Cat," She responded. "From what I heard you had a test, which I would hate to have on my first day."

"Oh no, I'm smiling because it's lunch and I am starving but the test did go well. I think."

"Well since we're both done for today. I was thinking of taking you to this diner called Bela's just around the corner. It's an American themed diner owned by the most amazing old lady ever Maria, everyone around here knows her also she makes the greatest BBQ chicken wings in this city and of course the milkshakes are to die for." Nessa says excitedly.

"Chicken wings and milkshakes, I'm in." I say walking out of the building.

Nessa was right, Maria's BBQ chicken wings are the greatest and the cold delicious milkshake topped with marshmallows and whipped cream decorated with a drizzle of melted chocolate and few toasted hazelnuts may be my new obsession.

"So what brings you to Rosemoor?" Nessa asked curiously.

Trying to act calm, I take a sip from my shake before answering. "My family and I needed a change. Don't get me wrong Dorton was a great place but a lot happened there and we felt like the best thing to do was to move one."

Nessa seemed very intrigued but from the way I was acting she knew it was best to not ask further questions about it, which I was very grateful for. I mean I didn't exactly lie but it doesn't seem right to share the truth just yet. I just met the girl, and although she seems really nice, I'd rather not dive straight into my past again.

Throughout the time at the diner I learnt that Nessa does triple science and maths. She has also has two sisters. Her favourite thing created on this earth is Netflix and like me, she is obsessed with many TV shows and movies.

She said she would text me a bunch of new movies and shows to watch and invited me over to her house on the weekend to binge watch some. After a good time at Bela cafe I headed back home.

"I'm home!" I shouted as I walked in.

"Hey Mia. How was your first day?" My dad responded coming down the stairs.

"I had a test today but other then that I enjoyed it. I made a friend, Vanessa, she showed me around the city a bit and took me to this cafe just around the corner from college. I might take you there sometime." I said smiling, thinking about today.

"I'm happy you had a great time today, it's nice to see you smiling again and please do, it sounds wonderful." My dad said kissing the top of my head before leaving the hallway into the living room.

Before following him in I take a deep breath. Everything is starting to feel so much better.

After dinner all three us watched a movie on Netflix. Honestly I don't know what I would do without Netflix. I'm absolutely obsessed.

After the move I made my way to my room to get an early night as I was feeling exhausted from my first day. This college and town actually doesn't seem that bad, in fact I kind of like it here. Maybe, just maybe things are starting to look up for me I thought just before my eyelids became heavy and I fell into a deep sleep.
