Chapter 29

The last few days have been quite relaxing. To be honest I didn't do much after the concert, I hung out with Nessa, Hayden, Josh and Noah a couple of times. I spent an afternoon with Kiana as well, since she came home for the holidays. We just hung around the mall and went mini golf which was fun.

Yesterday evening Julie and her son came round for dinner. Her son is called Alex and he goes to a college around 20 minutes from mine. He's actually really nice, we got along well and have a lot in common. As for Julie you can tell how much she likes my dad. She's really lovely and kind and she makes him happy so it's all good. We all just spent the evening talking and having fun. Alex and Luke get on really well and since they met they've hung out once or twice.

I invited Alex to the Christmas carnival tonight and told him to bring his girlfriend as well. I can tell how serious my dad and Julie are about each other so I want to try and get to know Alex as much as I can as it seems we will all be spending a lot of time together in the future.

Everybody's going to the Christmas carnival tonight. Hayden and Nate are bringing their little sister Izzy. Noah, Josh, Nessa, Luke, Kiana, my dad and Camila are also going, so it's definitely going to be a lot of fun. I've been to a couple of carnivals and fairs back in my old town and I absolutely love them so I'm very excited.

It's 5pm and I've just arrived at the carnival with Luke and my dad. After we got our wristbands I saw Julie walking over to us.

"Hey Julie." I waved at her.

"Hi Mia, Luke. It's so nice to see you guys again." she smiled.

"No Alex?" I asked wondering where he was.

"He'll be here soon, he's gone to go pick up his girlfriend." She replied.

"Oh okay, cool."

Just after that I saw Nessa, Hayden, Josh and Noah all stood around one of the stalls.

"I'm just going to go hang out with my friends. I'll meet you guys later when we get something to eat." I said.

"Okay darling, see you in a bit." Dad said before he and Julie left to go wonder around. Luke and Kiana disappeared a minute ago as well to go on some rides.

"Hey losers!" I greeted.

"Hey." They all said apart from Hayden. He was so focused on trying to knock down one of the clowns, I don't think he noticed me.

As soon as he failed to knock down a clown, he turned and saw me. "Oh Mia, hey."

"Hey." I laughed. "I see you didn't win."

"No. Stupid fucking thing is rigged. Nobody ever wins."

Just when he said that, the guy called out winner and handed the little girl, that was beside him, a huge teddy bear.

"Really? Nobody ever wins. I don't think it's rigged mate, I think your just shit." Noah joked.

"Oh shut the fuck up!"

"No Nate?" I asked slightly disappointed.

"Don't worry, he will be here soon." Laughed Hayden causing me to send him a glare. "He's gone to pick Izzy up from her friends house."

"I am not worrying." I replied annoyed. "Anyways, what do you guys want to go on first?"

"Twister!" Screamed Nessa just before dragging me to the ride.

It's around 30 minutes later and we've been on about 4 rides so far. I love rides but I can't deal with rollercoaster or any ride that goes up and down so fast. My heart literally drops, I hate them.
