We arrived at the hospital and I ran straight through the double doors and headed for the reception desk.

"I need to er, we need to see Nate." I told the receptionist. I still couldn't believe that this happened. The journey here I couldn't help but be angry at myself. Why does this keep happening to the people I get close with.

"Full name." She requested.

"Nathanial Sanders."

"He's been taken in, there's a waiting room down the hall."

Luke thanked the lady before I grabbed his hand and dragged him to the waiting room.

When we got there I saw Nate's family. Camila and Robert were sitting beside each other. Robert held Camila's hand with both of his as she lay her head on his shoulder and Hayden was pacing up and down.

"What happened? How is he? What have the doctors said? He will be okay won't he?" All these questions bursted out of my mouth as walked towards Hayden.

Hayden grabbed my hand gesturing for me to take a seat but I couldn't sit still. I felt as if my world had come to a stop. I felt sick and worried. He has to be okay I thought. He has to.

"He collided with a drunk driver when he was driving home. The driver was driving full speed and at junction he didn't stop at the red light and instead smashed into Nate." He told me causing me to gasp a little. "There was a pedestrian who saw it all and they called the ambulance. When we got here they asked us to wait here, nobody will tell us what's happening."

You could hear the pain in his voice. Hayden looked as pale as a ghost and I couldn't help but feel for them. Noticing me shiver in my seat, Camila got up and hugged me. She told me to not worry. Her eldest child is fighting for his life and she doesn't even know if he'll be okay, how is she calm?

"When did this happen?" I asked even though I already knew. It's been some time now that I waited here. I couldn't help but think if I demanded him to stay, this wouldn't have happened.

"I think it was when he was driving back from your house." Hayden replied. Hearing someone else say it I couldn't help but start tearing up.

"I could have stopped it from happening, I could have stopped it." I whispered.

"Hey! Don't say that! Nobody could have ever know what was going to happen. It's not your fault." Hayden wrapped his arm around me.

It's been over an hour now that we waited. Seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours. Luke and Hayden kept offering me something to eat or drink but I couldn't even look at the food because I could feel a pit at the bottom of my stomach which was making me feel nauseous.

After a while, the doctor finally came. We all stood up. Camila and Robert walked towards him asking if everything is okay.

"He's all good for you to see him now." He said causing me to let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "However, we won't know the full extent of his injury until we receive the brain scan back which will be very soon. As soon as we get that back, I will let you know."

"Thank you Paul." Nate's dad replied. Of course he knows the doctor. "Can we go and see him?"

"Yes you can but only two at a time please, He's just woken up and we don't want to crowd him."

Camilla whispered something to Robert. He soon then came back to sit down and told Hayden to go with his mother. Both Camila and Hayden went to the room whilst we waited outside.

After about 20 minutes Hayden came out and told me to go in.

"But what about your dad?"
