Chapter 9

"So spill! How was spending the day with the Sander brothers?" Nessa grins at me hoping something interesting happened.

After my English language class Nessa dragged me straight to the cafeteria to grab some food and tell her everything that happened yesterday.

"It was fun, they took me to the shopping centre. We went bowling and had dinner at the food court until Nate got a call from his mum to help out with her bakery and because I had nothing else to do I decided to join. The cupcakes there are to die for by the way." I told her keeping it basic making sure to keep the details out where she could butt in and make the most stupidest remarks and by details I mean the Nate situation.

"Hey Mia." I look up from my pizza to see Hayden sit by me and Noah sitting next to Nessa. I look at Nessa to find her confused as I am.

"Hey Hayden, what are you doing here?"

"Eating." He looks at me like I'm dumb.

"I see that."

"I'm sorry your name was." Hayden questions as he looks between a blushing Nessa and I.

"Vanessa. My best friend. The library." I say trying to jog his memory.

"Ohhh Vanessa."

"Nessa, just call me Nessa" She said smiling at Hayden.

"I'm sorry Nessa I'm Hayden and that is Noah." Hayden point towards Noah.

"Hayden." I say grabbing his attention. "Why are you sitting here?" I'm still confused as to why he chose to sit here plus I can't take the stares from across the room.

"Wow. After spending nearly a whole day with you yesterday you still don't consider me as your friend." After he said that he nodded his head to Noah and grabbed his backpack to leave pretending to be in some dramatic soap opera.

Realising what he said also what he was doing was weird I quickly grabbed his hand. "I'm sorry. Please sit back down."

Hayden and Noah settled back in their seats. "There was actually something I wanted to ask you. Noah and I are going to that new arcade that just opened tomorrow and I was thinking maybe you would like to join?"

"Gibsons arcade! My sister went there yesterday she said it's amazing." Nessa says out of nowhere excitedly.

"Well we better leave for football practice. Nessa if you could persuade this girl to come that will be great. Meet you both tomorrow at 5." Hayden grabs his backpack and leaves the cafeteria with Noah following behind. After watching them leave I look back to a creepy grinning Nessa, "We are so going tomorrow even if I have to drag you there."

It's Tuesday evening. 4:15pm to be precise. I've just finished doing some of my homework and I've just freshened up a bit for the arcade having a bit of time to waste I decided to see what the family are up to downstairs.

"Hey dad." I sat beside my dad on the sofa as he watches a game show. "Hey darling where are you off to?"

"I'm going to this new arcade that opened near by."

"Sounds cool."

Luke dropped me off at the arcade just in time. Once I got out of the car I spotted Hayden, Noah and Nessa by the arcade door.
