"Samantha Dunn."

The girl with the guitar locked eyes with Nate. "Oh my gosh. Nate!" She shrieked as she placed her guitar down to hug him.

"Err, who is she?" I hear Nessa whisper to Dylan.

"High school girlfriend." He responded.

"Why is he so happy to see his ex."

"Oh erm they were kinda serious but she had to move town so." Serious?

Wait. Why I am I bothered? Ignoring the stupid voice in my head, I decided to go grab a water bottle from the mini fridge. As I went to pick out the bottle I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to see Nessa.

"You okay?" She asked.

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be."

"Well erm, they seem cosy." She looked over to the sofa. I follow her gaze to see Nate and Samantha chatting like they were the only two people in the room.

"So. They can be cosy. Why should I care." I say, sounding a bit aggressive. I walked past Nessa and sat on the sofa opposite the two.

"Hey you ready for the show?" Matty asked who was sitting beside me.

"Yeah I haven't been to many concerts so I'm excited." I smiled but it disappeared as quick as it appeared when I heard laughs coming from across the room. I couldn't help but catch a quick glance. I saw Samantha slowly move closer to Nate, laughing at he's words. She then flicked her blonde hair to one side and gently stroked his arm. He didn't seem annoyed. But then why would he. I mean there's nothing going on between us. But do I want something to go on between us?

Feeling like the room was closing in on me, I excused myself from the conversation with Matty and I headed out the back exit for some air.

What is happening to me. I thought to myself as I took a sip from my water bottle. Every time I looked over to them I couldn't help but wish I was the one he was talking to. Smiling at. But I don't understand I've seen him with many girls, why now? But then thinking back, have I? I mean whenever we're together it really is just him and I.

Not wanting to think about this now I decided to head back in. The concert has started and Nessa and I are at our seats enjoying the show. Halfway through the show Nessa ended up swapping seats with Nate.

"Hey, where did you go? I tried calling you." He asked, moving closer for me to hear him over the loud music.

"Oh I just went out for some fresh air. It was getting quite hot in the room." I replied.

"Yeah, okay." He smirked.

"What?" I said, confused about why he is smirking.

"I may be wrong but it seemed to me you were getting jealous."

"What." I laughed. "What makes you think that?"

"I noticed the little glances from you." He smiled. "I mean I couldn't help but do the same."

He was looking at me. I slowly felt my checks heat up. Not wanting him to see me blushing, I move my head to the beat to quickly cover my face with my hair.

"I really don't know what you're talking about." I said pretending to not care.

"Okay but if it makes you feel better, the girl I want isn't on that stage." He said before smirking and walking off.

After that little conversation with Nate, I couldn't help but avoid him. I was so determined to avoid him that I was pretending to enjoy the concert. But I really just couldn't stop thinking about what he said. Does he like me?

Once we all got out of the venue, I quickly pulled Nessa aside, away from the others.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"Is it okay if I stay over at yours?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I just really need to talk to you."

It seemed that everyone wanted to stay out for bit longer but I couldn't. Not when I had this weird, fuzzy feeling wanting to burst right out. I felt like if I spent one more minute with Nate, I would do something really stupid. Like say something dumb or not say something at all. So coming to my rescue, like always, Nessa told the group she didn't feel well and that I was going stay over at hers to keep her company. Everyone seemed to believe it. I mean Dylan was thinking of ditching the group to stay with her.

When we got dropped off and settled in at her house, I quickly dragged her upstairs into her bedroom and closed the door.

"I think I have feelings for Nate." I quickly mumbled.

"And you realised that now?"

"I don't know what happened. I mean yeah I liked him little. But it was just a really, really tiny crush and now I can't stop thinking about him."

"Well maybe that was because you saw how easy it is for another girl to have him. You were jealous of Samantha."

"Well obviously. They were serious in the past and who said they can't be serious again. But that doesn't even matter now."

"Why doesn't it matter, didn't you just say you had a crush on him like a second ago?"

"Because he kinda told me he doesn't want her." I sighed.

"What does that mean? Did you ask?"

"No. He caught me looking at them."

"And that means?"

"He figured I was kinda jealous."

"Well it ain't hard, my five year old cousin could've work that out." She laughed

"Oh just shut up." Taking a deep breath, I sat myself on her bed. "What I am going to do?"

"Tell him maybe." She replied, sitting beside me.

"But that's the thing. I don't know if I want him to know." Nessa looked at me confused and told me to go on. "For starters he's in university, which means we don't see each other that much. And I really like the fact that I can talk to him, I just don't want to ruin that."

"Who's to say that it'll ruin it?" She asked

"I don't know. I mean what if it doesn't work out. I really don't want to lose him as a friend"

"Well, why don't you sleep on it and then when you see him next time, you can make a decision." She smiled.

Thankful for the advice. I smiled back and hugged her. When we broke out of the hug, Nessa grabbed me some pyjamas and a spare toothbrush to freshen up. We then got in bed and watched a movie together. Once the movie finished, I looked to my side to see Nessa sleeping. Not being able to sleep I turned the tv off and grabbed my phone to text my dad where I was. Turning my phone on, I saw 2 missed calls from Nate and a text message.

Nate: Hey. You left so soon I didn't even get to say goodbye so I just wanted to say goodnight munchkin, see you soon x :)
