As I walked into the bakery the delicious smells filled the air. The aroma captured all the different smells from the freshly ground coffee to the various cakes and pastries.
"Okay, munchkin follow me," said Nate.
We walked into the kitchen and I was surrounded by some very expensive looking equipment. This place is so cool. I was snapped away from my thoughts when an apron was thrown at my head.
"Dick."
Whilst smirking Nate replied, "you know you look cute when you're angry," causing a faint blush to rise to my cheeks, "now come on munchkin, these cupcakes won't bake themselves."
After helping Nate make the batter for the cakes and by helping I basically mean mixing it and nothing else. It's not my fault I'm not good at baking. After the cakes had cooled I began to pipe the frosting on to them.
"Wow, you really can't bake or decorate can you?" Laughed Nate.
"Hey, it's not my fault the stupid piping bag ain't working."
"Sure blame the piping back for making the frosting look like shit on a cake," he laughed.
"Oh shut up, its not bad!" I said whilst attempting to throw a cloth at him, which he caught. Idiot.
"Really munchkin no need to get so aggressive, here I'll show you." Nate walked over to me and I could feel him directly behind. He placed his hand over mine and started to pipe the frosting. I could feel the warmth of his hand as it towered over my petite size hands. From the corner of my eyes I saw a faint smile on his face causing a smile to break out onto mine as well.
"You guys done yet, the people want their cakes." Hayden walks in making Nate and I jump. I quickly move away from him and act like nothing was happening.
"Yeah here let me just quickly do the frosting." Nate quickly and skilfully does the frosting.
I grab a tray that was near by and start placing the cupcakes on it. After doing the first tray I hand it over to Hayden who takes it out. Filling up four trays, Nate and I take two each and walk out the kitchen. It's 8pm now which means an hour till the bakery closes but that doesn't mean the bakery still isn't busy in fact it's so busy Nate and I started waitering.
It's 8:45 now and the bakery has become quiet.
Nate stares at me for a couple of seconds before speaking. "So, today was good."
"Yeah." I wanted to carry on the conversation but I couldn't stop thinking about what happened in the kitchen. I hate to admit it but I really wish Hayden didn't walk in.
"So guys, here you are." Hayden places three cupcakes on the table as he sits next to me.
"Thanks." I smile at Hayden.
After finishing the cupcake, Nate locked up the bakery and drove us back home. Once we arrived at my house I said my goodbyes to the boys and went straight up to my bedroom hoping to get a good sleep.
