"What do you mean he's sick." Nessa shouts over the phone which is on speaker. It's Halloween night and Hayden has just texted saying that he's going to miss the party because he caught a cold last night, which was fine by me considering I don't really like parties. So here I am looking in the mirror trying to put this stupid hat on while speaking to Nessa.

"Jeez Nessa he has the cold no need to shout." I said to her as I sort the hat out making sure it looks good.

"I'm sorry. Anyways what did you text back?"

"I hope he feels better. What else was I meant to say." I said giving my mirror self a confused face as she gives one back.

"Mia! This is your chance to shine and show him that you are so girlfriend material." Annoyed with what she just said and this stupid hat not looking good on me I throw it on the bed and pick up my phone turning it off speaker.

"Nessa! What the heck are you going on about?"

"You and Hayden duh."

"Me and Hayden what!"

"Oh come on Mia. You guys are so close, I'm pretty sure he fancies you and I think you like him too." She laughed

"What! No. Me and Hayden are just really good friends that's all!" I responded. I mean that's it. We aren't anything more. Just friends.

"Righttttt, anyways text him back and say your cancelling the party and then bring popcorns and snacks over to his house to make him feel better."

"What about the party."

"Pshh what party? This is Hayden's house we're talking about."

"Girl if your so obsessed with him why don't you do it."

"Because its you he's texted. Now come on text him, I know you rather do this then go to the party."

Just right then I got a text from the devil himself.

From Hayden: looks like Noah can't take you to the party he just showed up at mine and I doubt he told you.

"Nessa?"

"Yes?"

"Did Noah tell you that he isn't going to the party?"

"What no." She says in a high pitch voice.

"Liar. That's why your pushing to ask Hayden cause we don't have a lift to the party."

"Noooo, I would never do that."

"Whatever Nessa I'm not doing it!"

Seconds later Hayden texted again.

Hayden: you know it would be cool if you ditch the party and came over you should bring Nessa too I'm sure your Mario and Luigi outfits would cheer me up ;)

Not actually wanting to go to the party and knowing Nessa doesn't mind going to Hayden's wouldn't be such a bad idea.

"Nessa."

"Yeah?"

"We are ditching the party, meet me outside Hayden's, stay in costume." I said before I hanged up.
