It's Christmas Eve! To be honest I don't really care all that much about the gifts, I just love everything else about Christmas. The food, the snow, the songs and spending time with my family. I will admit, I'm not as excited for Christmas this year mainly because it's my first Christmas without my mum and sister but we decided that we would celebrate it like normal because we know they would want us to.

Every Christmas Eve we have a tradition where we always bake Christmas cookies in the morning and then go on a Christmas movie binge in the evening which is exactly what we are going to do.

"Mia! Did you take the first batch out?" Asked Luke.

Oh shit. I may have forgot. I went to go and pull them out of the oven and all that was left was some very burnt looking Christmas trees.

"Oops." I smiled sheepishly.

"Mia!" Exclaimed Luke. "Honestly, we give you one job and you can't even do that."

"Hey it ain't my fault, I thought you were checking them."

"It's fine, we have plenty here to make a new batch." My dad said, the peacemaker.

Dad loves baking. He goes all out every year. Me on the other hand inherited my mum's cooking skills. She never could bake either. Luke definitely inherited dad's skills, I will never admit it to him but he is a pretty decent cook.

"I invited Alex and Julie over tomorrow afternoon, I just figured it'd be nice as it's only them." My dad said. "Is that okay?"

"Yeah definitely, it'll be good." I replied whilst Luke showed his agreement with a nod.

He's been a bit more moody than usual today. It's because Kiana was supposed to spend Christmas here this year but she has to stay in Dorton for some uni stuff. I'm actually surprised at how long they've been together. They met in high school but never officially started dating until they were 17. It'd been almost 5 years, they are made for each other though. There both leaving uni in a few months and are looking for an apartment together. Who knows, maybe she'll become my sister in law soon. I mean I did overhear my brother talking about it to my dad.

After we baked all the cookies and of course ate a lot of them I received a text from Hayden.

Hayden: Hey! We're all meeting at Nessa's in 30 minutes. See you later :)

We all decided that we would give each other our Christmas gifts today since we are all spending tomorrow with our families. Josh and Noah will be out of town as well so it made sense to do it today.

"Dad! I'm going to Nessa's but I'll be home later for movie night."

"Okay sweetheart."

I arrived at Nessa's a little while later and everyone was there except for Nate, Dylan said that he wouldn't be able to come to Nessa's, he had to go and get something so I don't know when I'll be able to see him to give him his gift. Talking about Nate, we weren't able to talk much about that kissed we shared last night, so I'm actually quite nervous to see him again.

"Hey!" They all said.

We spent some time just talking before we gave the gifts.

"Wow! Thanks Mia!" Said Hayden.

"Your Welcome."

I had gave everyone's gifts and it's safe to say I think I did a good job, they all liked them so it was a success. I loved all the gifts that everyone got me, they all knew me so well.

After spending time with everyone, we finally said our goodbyes and I made my way back home just in time as I saw the take away delivery guy leaving the house.
