The continuous sound of my alarm kept ringing through my head. Great. After hitting the snooze button multiple times I decided that it was time to get up so I literally had to force myself out of bed.
Making my way to the bathroom. I jumped in the shower and started to get ready. After brushing my teeth and washing my face I threw my hair into a high pony tail and put my clothes on.
I was going to leave before my dad called me to get some breakfast. He never lets me leave unless I've eaten, he always goes on about how it's the most important meal of the day which I guess it's true. He placed two pancakes and some bacon in front of me. My dad is a great cook but unfortunately I did not inherit that gene. I can cook very basic things like pasta but that is about it. My cookery skills don't expand any further than that I'm afraid.
I decided to walk to school today as the weather was actually quite good. That's one of the good things about Rosemoor the weather is 100% better than my old town, it constantly rained there. Once I arrived at school, I saw Nessa and started to make my way over to her.
"Hey Nessa how's things?" I asked.
"Shit. My little sister thought it was funny to change my alarm clock to ring at 3am. So I ended up sleeping in and woke up at 8:15 it takes me more than 30 minutes to look this good you know? She sighed dramatically making me laugh. "You?"
From the time I've spent with Nessa I've come to learn that she is very witty, sarcastic and dramatic at times but in a funny way. She actually reminds me a lot of someone that I used to know.
"My morning was good, hopefully it'll stay that way, I'll see you in bit." I say while walking into the direction where my class is, whilst Nessa walks the opposite way.
When I got to my psychology lesson I took my seat and started to get my folder out. Honestly the amount of stuff that I have to bring to each lesson is unbelievable, it makes my bag almost impossible to carry around all day.
"Good Morning class, I'm going to be handing back your tests papers from yesterday so you can see what you got and then we can move on to our new topic which will be memory." Miss Anderson said.
As she made her way around the class, I noticed the hazel eyed boy from yesterday. As she handed him his test back, a big grin crept upon his face.
"Ah yes, a solid 98/100, top grade once again right miss?" he asked whilst hi fiving the boy next to him.
"Actually Hayden. No. Not this time." She said whilst walking over to me. His face dropped a little. She placed my test onto my desk and when I saw the 100/100 mark I couldn't help but smile.
"The highest grade was achieved by our new student Mia, Well done Mia." She smiled at me.
"Ha! Hayden looks like you got yourself some competition" said the same boy sitting next to Hayden.
As I turned my head in the opposite direction I saw Hayden looking at me with an expression I quite couldn't put my finger on. Once our eyes interlocked he sent me a sly smirk and looked away. Huh. I wonder what that was for. Pushing my thoughts to the side I focused on the lesson.
The end of class bell sounded and before anyone started to leave, Miss Anderson announced that we have a mini assignment where we have to conduct and carry out our own observation and research. She also mentioned we had to do it in pairs.
As soon as she said that the whole class swarmed out of the classroom. Who can blame them, I'm sure every student wants to leave as soon as they possibly can.
"So once again the best team reunite." The guy who was sat next to Hayden says as he puts one arm around Hayden's shoulders.
Strangely Hayden moves away. "Ha. Not this time mate, looks like you have to find a new psychology partner for this one." He said
As I was about to make my way out, I felt a hand tap me on my shoulder and when I turned around I was greeted by those mesmerising hazel eyes and a charming smile which fit perfectly with the dimples that arose onto his cheeks.
"Mia right?" Hayden asks.
"Uhhh, Yeah" I mumbled.
"Well, Um I was just wondering if you wanted to work together on this assignment?" He asked.
"Ermm why?" I questioned. "I mean I don't mean to sound rude or anything but you don't really know me so I was just wondering why you wanted to work together, I would never want to take you away from your psychology buddy" I laughed.
He scratched the back of his suggesting he was slightly uncomfortable. "Don't worry about him, he'll survive. I just thought with you doing okay in your test we would work good together" he suggested.
"Uh, okay sure," I said. "and by the way I did better than okay" I joked.
A small grin appeared onto his face "Yeah yeah, don't get too cocky love, we will see who's the better student," he chuckled whilst sending me a wink. "Meet me in the library at lunch and we can get started on the research." He said.
"Okay sure"
There was something about Hayden that I liked. Maybe we will work good together I thought as I walked towards my next lesson.
After a lesson of law which seemed to last a life time I finally had a 15 minute break where I met Nessa.
Vanessa really does seem like a great girl, she's really kind and funny. I think we will be quite good friends actually.
