Chapter 49

Toothbrush check, toothpaste check-
"What are you doing?" Luke asked as he entered my room which has become quite empty.

"Just going over everything." I replied as I go back to checking.

"Gosh Mia relax. You did this last night and the minute you woke up."

"I know I'm just feeling doubtful."

"Well stop because in an hour you'll be driving to uni so just take this time to enjoy your time home and with your family."

"Your right." I said before leaving to go chat with my family in the living room.

An hour later my family, friends and I are crowded by the front door.

This was it. I would be leaving for 3 years now. It's crazy how fast these last few months went. A - Level results day came and I got the grades I needed to go to my dream university. It never really sunk in that I would be leaving and moving away from all my friends and family.

There is one good thing however, mine and Nate's university are really close and so we will be moving in together. I have to say when he asked me I was shocked but of course I said yes, I love him and I want to move in together. I know we haven't been together for a long time but it feels right and my mum always used to say to follow my gut and my gut was telling me that moving in with Nate was probably the best thing for me at this point in my life.

"Oh my baby girl!" Cried my dad before giving me his hundredth hug of the day.

"Aw dad, don't worry I'll be back in a couple of months for Christmas"

"That's still too long" he said pulling away from me. "Okay, I know I'm being dramatic but I can't help it"

"Erm how come you weren't like this when I left for university?" Luke questioned.

"You didn't leave"

"Oh yeah" he mumbled causing me to laugh.

"Now are you sure you have everything?"

"Yes dad" I laughed.

"Okay, I'm going to go now before I get going again. Call me when you get there. You" He said before pointing at Nate "better look after my daughter"

"Yes sir" Nate smiled squeezing my hand.

My dad gave me one last hug a long with Luke, Julie and Alex and I was now left with Nate, Nessa, Hayden, Josh and Dylan.

"Aw I'm going to miss you so much!" Exclaimed Nessa.

"Ness, your staying with me for 2 weeks yet" I laughed. Nessa doesn't start university until a few weeks after me and so she will be staying with me and Nate for a while. She was going to stay with Dylan but he's going to visit some of his family and so she didn't want to be alone.

"I know but all these goodbyes are making me emotional" she said causing me to laugh.

I loaded all my bags in the car and stood outside my house. I know I haven't lived here for that long but it's always hard leaving someone you call home.

"Hey you ready" asked Nate.

"Yeah I guess so"

"Cheer up. These next few years are going to be the years of our life and promise" he said before giving me a kiss and getting into the drivers seat.

I knew he was right and I couldn't wait to see what these next few years bring.
