"Oooh daddy! Stew broke the tv" I heard from downstairs
"Shhh your moms sleeping"
I rolled over and checked the time. 7:30.
"Why me?" I groaned putting my face into the pillow
I felt like I was slowly falling asleep until I heard someone drop glass. I grabbed my phone from the counter and walked downstairs.
"Mommy I'm in love" Adeline said
"No your not" Nate said afterwards cleaning the glass from the floor
I turned to Stew and Aiden who were sitting on the couch.
"Why are girls so complicated?" Stew asks Aiden
"Hmm am I 5 or 6?" Aiden responded
I turned to the dog who was chewing on Aiden's stuffed toy. This felt like some tv show about a crazy family. I felt my phone vibrate and it was my manager.
"Hello" I said
"Jael I found you a modeling gig it's great pay but it's in Paris for a week and you leave in two days" he said
I looked at everyone who was looking at me.
"Um okay can I let you know later?"
I heard shuffling through the phone "yeah by tonight"
Before I could answer my manager had already hung up.
"Alright so my manager found me a gig but it's in Paris for a week" I said
"A week? You can't leave for a week we have kids" Nate said
"Nate, I never say anything when you go to the studio or travel for something" I respond
Stew got up and clapped his hands. "Who wants to go play video games in uncle Stew's room!"
The kids cheered and immediately all ran upstairs. I turned back to Nate who was sitting on the couch.
"I want you to go it's just this would be my first time alone with the kids for a week" he said
I sighed sitting next to him. "You'll be fine plus you have Stew and your always alo-"
"It's different now cause your not going to be the- actually this is good we'll have boy time!" He said and jumped up from the couch "and girl"
I smiled at him "you see you'll be fine"
