Keeping a newborn's crib in yours and Cassidy's bedroom seemed like a good idea, and on certain nights, it was the best. You were supposed to be asleep, but when you felt Cassidy move and get out of bed, you couldn't help but to wake up.
"Hush, lad," the vampire whispered to the son he shared with you. "C'mon now, don't cry, Daddy's here, eh?" You smiled a little and decided to act as if you were sleeping, mainly out of sheer curiosity as to what your husband was going to say to the child. "There's a good lad. Y'know, you almost woke your Mum, and trust me, no one wants to wake your Mum. Big mistake. She's lovely though, and when you're older, you'll realise how great she is." Cassidy shuffled around the room and pulled out the foldable chair, he sat in it with the newborn on his lap and let a smile grace his features. "Now, your Mum," he continued, "Is possible the greatest woman I've met. Dunno what shite I pulled to get her to tie the knot with me, but I'm glad she did. 'Cause now we have you. I got your Mum, and I got you, my son, and that's all I can ever want."
"Cas?" You yawned, pretending as if you hadn't been listening in, a quiet shushing noise came from where Cassidy was sat and you looked at him with a lazy smile. "What're you doing?"
"Talking to our son," he replied softly, smiling at you. "Go back to sleep, love, I'll be there in a minute."
