His recent case had kept him up night and day, stressing, empathising, travelling down the killer's mind and only just getting back to reality, and to say you were worried was an understatement; you found him sat on the sofa one night, the dogs sprawled out on the floor in front of him as he stared into nothingness. With a sigh, you walked into the kitchen, made him a cup of tea, and sat beside him.
"Will," you said softly, handing him the tea and patting his leg softly to let him know you were there. "Take a break and stop before you overwork yourself and end up not being able to come back. Please?"
"Sorry," Will mumbled quietly, looking down into the cup. "It's just-"
"You're stressed?" You waited for him to nod slowly, so you gave him a small smile and nodded back, even though he wasn't looking. "Anything I can do to help?"
"Catch the killer?" He joked, letting out a broken chuckle; you laughed quietly and shrugged.
"I would if I could," you said, placing a hand on Will's shoulder gently. "Seriously, Will, is there anything I can do at all?"
"Just sit here with me," he whispered, taking a sip of his tea. "Please?"
"Of course." You agreed, taking your hand off of his shoulder and replacing it with your head, your arm wrapping around his waist securely, you could feel him relax against you slightly as you sat with him in a comfortable silence.
