Cassidy had decided that you, him, and your son needed to get away for a while and just relax for a bit, so he suggested going out of town and finding a beach somewhere; the sand was soft and hot, but not too hot, and you immediately kicked off your shoes, helped your son out of his socks and shoes, and laid down on the sand while Cassidy put up what seemed like a tent in order to keep out of the sun, while little Ewan went off and played in the shallow water.
"He'll be in there all day," you said to your vampire husband, who grinned from the inside of his little tent and gestured for you to get in beside him, which you did. "It's a shame you can't though."
"I know," Cassidy sighed, resting his head on your shoulder and passing you his sunglasses as the two of you attentively watched your son frolic around, having the time of his life. "But I'm glad we're here, love."
"Why's that, Cas?" You asked softly, your eyes closely watching as Ewan began to bound over to you both, his little feet kicking up tufts of sand as he ran.
"Because I get to spend all day with the two people I hate least," he joked, although there was an honesty in his voice that made you grin. "Not to mention, I love ya both."
"I love you too, Cas." You grinned; Ewan stopped in front of you and your husband and gave you both a cheeky grin.
"Daddy," Ewan said, looking at Cassidy with a light in his eyes. "Come play with me."
"Maybe later, lad," Cassidy said softly, covering his hand and reaching out to ruffle his son's hair. "Daddy ain't feelin' too well."
"Mummy," Ewan turned to you, tilting his head slightly. "Will you play with me?"
"Of course, Ewan." You grinned, giving Cassidy a quick kiss before running off with your young son to go play with him.
