You had been walking home from the shops when the skies suddenly became dark and melancholy, and before you could take even the smallest of steps, the rain began crashing down; it bounced off of the asphalt, spitting up at your clothes and drenching the material. You walked a little quicker, heading to the house you shared with Archie Hicox, your fiancé, which, thankfully, was little more than two minutes away; shopping bag in hand, you let yourself in and automatically went to the kitchen.

"Darling," Archie smirked, looking at your soaking form. "You're all wet. Here," he took the bag from you and put it on the dining table before heading upstairs, he grabbed a towel, one of his old shirts, and almost ran back downstairs. "Let's get you dry, hmm?"

"Thanks, Arch," you shivered, ridding yourself of your wet clothes and drying yourself off with the towel before putting the shirt on. "Can we sit in front of the fire?"

"Of course," he said gently, picking you up and carrying you into the living room; the fireplace was already roaring with flames that consumed most of the logs inside of it, the glorious, welcoming heat that radiated from it was comforting as Archie sat down before it with you on his lap. "Feel better, yet?" He rubbed your back gently and relaxed at the warm sensation that coursed through his veins. Contentment.

"Yeah," you yawned, leaning against him and snuggling up. "I love you."

"I love you too, darling."
