Cheer Up - Cassidy

You were in one of those moods where you weren't happy, but you weren't upset or angry, simply... Numb. Nothing seemed to break through it, not even the rain when you sat outside, its cold teeth sinking into you. But you couldn't feel it. You couldn't feel a damn thing.

"Hey," Cassidy mumbled, sitting beside you and pulling on his hood to try and stop the merciless rain from soaking his skin. "You alright, love?"

"Fine." You answered, staring down at the ground and wishing for everything to end. The numbness. The inability to cope.

"You don't sound it," he said, voice filled with concern. "Tell ya what, why don't I make ya a cuppa and we can talk about what's fucking your head up?"

"Nah," you shook your head solemnly and Cassidy furrowed his brows; thinking on his feet, the vampire picked you up in his arms and carried you to the sofa, where he sat down and held you on his lap.

"I'm gonna cheer you up, love."

Halfway through a terrible horror film, you found a little smile curving your lips, which made Cassidy grin.

"Never stop smiling, love," he said, kissing your temple. "Not ever."
