When Charles Xavier knocked on your door, you almost denied him, but when you saw the cerulean eyes and the kind features, you knew you had to open the door; you showed him to your living room, made him a cup of tea, and sat on the sofa.

"Miss (Y/L/N)," he began, voice soft and kind. "My name is C-"

"Charles Xavier," you chuckled softly, giving him a warm smile. "I know who you are. Gotta admit, you're much better looking in person."

"I'll take your word for it," he said shyly, blushing a little and fiddling with his mug of tea. "The reason I'm here is-"

"You want to recruit me. Sorry for interrupting you, Mister Xavier, I can't help myself," you said honestly, giving him an apologetic smile. "I'm guessing you know about my... What is it you call it?"

"Mutation," he said patiently.

"Yeah, that."

"Yes, I know about it."

"Is yours similar?"

"You'll have to join me in order to find out."

"Or," you chuckled softly and Charles found himself warming up to you. "We could sit here, talk, and I'll consider it."

"If that works for you." He gave you a warm smile and your heart skipped out on a beat.

For an hour, you had been trying to figure Charles out, what his story was, his mutation, and although it was hard, you found yourself getting on fairly well with him.

"I got it!" You exclaimed, jumping up off of your sofa, Charles smirked and raised an eyebrow at you. "You're a telepath!"

"You got me," he chuckled, jokingly raising his hands in a false surrender. "How did you know?"

"A woman never reveals her secrets," you winked, smirking at him. "So, now I know what you are, would you care to join me for dinner later, Mister Xavier?"

"I, I," Charles was a bit flustered by that, twiddling his thumbs and swallowing thickly. "Yes."

"Awesome," you kissed his cheek and giggled quietly when you saw him blush. "See you at eight, Mister-"

"Charles," he said softly, smiling brightly. "Call me Charles."

"Okay," you grinned and Charles easily found himself wishing to see that grin more often. "See you at eight, Charles."
