Since Sophie called and told me that she thought she was pregnant and it was negative it has kinda got me thinking what it would be like to be settled down completely with kids. I think Sophie would be a fantastic mother but she has her career to think about. I would love nothing more than to have her with me all the time and where she would not have to work, but she loves it so that decision would have to come from her. She went to the doctors last week and got birth control and the reason she was late on her period and the sickness was down to a viral infection and stress. That's why I'm gonna get home a little earlier than expected but Sophie don't know yet. I'm gonna surprise her with a country date outside dinner. I asked her if she would stay over at my place tonight because I was getting a package delivered. She is totally obvious to this. I text Kara and asked her to take her for a couple of drinks to give me time to get set up. I got home around 1230 and I decided that I was gonna make a good old southern dinner. Chicken corn mac n cheese and turnip greens, followed by my mamas secret peach cobbler recipe. I asked Kara if she could have her here for 7 to give me plenty of time to cook and get the outside ready. It was now 6 pm so I had to go and get ready. All the food was ready and keeping warm in the oven. As I came down stairs I heard a cab coming up the drive she was slightly early but only by 20 minutes. I went to the front door and opened it and leaned nonchalantly against the door frame. I saw the biggest smile appear in her face as she paid the driver and jumped out the cab "Baby when did you get home I wasn't expecting you till tomorrow" she said running up to me and hugging me "We managed to get home earlier than expected to after all we have been through I wanted to do something nice for you, come I have a surprise for you" I said taking her hand and leading her outside. As I opened the back door all you could see was mason jars filled with candles and lights hanging on this most beautiful table

"Oh my god Luke this is absolutely beautiful, I never thought you be be this romantic" she said turning and kissing me "I even cooked" I replied then kissing her deep. I broke away before we got caught up in one another "If you would like to follow me darlin, I will place you at the table and I will go and get our dinner" I said leading her to the table. I pulled out the seat and she sat. I kissed her hand and said "I will be right back. Why don't you open the wine" I ran inside and grabbed the two plates. I must admit it did look delicious even if I did make it myself.

I headed outside and place sit in front of her "Voila, ma lady" I said "Luke this looks delicious I'm absolutely starving. This is why Kara would let me get a cheeseburger at the bar, have you to been in cahoots with one another" she asked "Yeah this boy needed some help. Once you have that I also made mamas special peach cobbler" I said "Mmmm I love it. Talking of your mama, when are we going down to Georgia." She asked "I was thinking this weekend if you want" "Brilliant. Don't get me wrong I'm nervous as hell but in defo looking forward to it."
