"Baby I don't know why you don't just do what Simon told you. If you let her away with this what else will she do" Sophie said as she was making something to eat. Mama called and said she was going to go shopping after church and that she would be home in time for dinner. This gave me chance to figure out what I wanted to do.
"Sophie I don't want her going to prison, I need to find out why she did this, why she needs the money" I said
"Luke you are to dang nice for your own good. Fine but I'm coming with you. You better call her and arrange to meet." She said
I picked up the note inside the envelope and looked at the photos again, dang we are hot together I thought. But these can't be seen by no one, I have fans all all ages and they don't wanna see that, well maybe some would I laughs to myself. I dialled the number and she answered
"I wondered how long it would take for you to call me. Wouldn't want mamas special soldier being exposed over the internet would we" she laughed
"Caroline what happened to you. Why are you doing this, what's with the blackmail" I said
"Luke it's not like you can't afford it and I need it" she said
"But blackmail...." I replied
"Yeah it's not like I can rock up to you like hey Luke sorry I broke your heart can I have $25000 please" she whispered
"Caroline, Sophie and I want to meet up and sort this out. If those pictures get out I'm ruined" I said
"Fine. Meet me at Denny's in the car park and we can talk. I would prefer if you came alone" she said
"No I'm bringing Sophie she also has her career at stake. We will see you in 30 minutes" I said hanging up the phone
I told Sophie what was happening and we headed to my truck and to meet Caroline.
As we pulled up I seen Caroline get out of the car. I signalled her over and she got in the back seat.
"Hey" we both said
"Hey" she replied
"Caroline what's wrong" I asked
She started to cry
"Caroline come on what's wrong we can't help if you don't tell us" I said
Sophie turned and said
"Caroline just tell him, he loves to help people. If it was up to me your ass would be in jail"
"Sophie please" Caroline said "I'm sorry, I saw an opportunity and I took it. I did it because, because I have a son" she looked at me
"We have a son......"
