I pulled up outside Caroline's and I headed to the front door and knocked. Thomas cane running to the open
"Daaaadddyyy" He said hugging me tight
"Hey buddy, where's your mama" I asked
"Living room" he said grabbing my hand and pulling me through
I went into the living room and Caroline was laying on the couch
"Hey Caroline, Merry Christmas" I said
"Hey Luke, no Sophie" she asked
"No remember I said it was just going to be me and I was taking Thomas to mamas. Is his bag ready" I asked
"Yeah it's all ready. Do you want some sweet tea" she asked
"Yes please" I said
"Me to mama" Thomas called
"He don't even like sweet tea, He is so trying to be like you" she laughed
"The best way to be" I said
"No arguing there" she said running my arm as she headed to the kitchen.
"Do you need some help" I asked
"No it's fine, sit down you must be tired from your drive" she said
"Yeah I am. I'm just going to call Soph let her know I'm here safely"
I dialled the phone and she answered on the second ring. I told her I would FaceTime her tonight before bed.
I sat and chatted with Caroline for a good hour and then Thomas and I grabbed his things
"Give your mama a kiss and cuddle and I will meet you in the car" I said handing him my keys
"Ok daddy" he said hugging Caroline "miss you mama"
"Love you baby boy" she said hugging him tight
"Caroline I need to speak with you in private"
"Ok"
"Well Sophie and I are, well how can I say this we are going to have a baby" I said
She just looked at me and then a smile crept over her
"Whoa Luke that's brilliant." She said
"I'm going to tell Thomas tonight but I need him to keep it a secret cos mama don't know yet we going to tell everybody Christmas Day" I said
"Oh I'm sure he will be fine. Just don't leave him out Luke ok" she said
"I won't I promise. I better be heading mama will have dinner cooking don't wanna upset her" I said heading to the door
Just as I was about to open the door Caroline said
"Look up"
I looked up and there was a piece of mistletoe hanging from the door way
"Old times sake" she said
"Since it's Christmas" I said as I leaned in to kiss her cheek, but she turned and I caught her lips. She deepened it and I didn't fight it and then my phone beeped and brought me back to reality
"That should not have happened"
I said running out the door
