Chapter 55

I looked at Sophie and just I was about to speak Caroline said
"Thomas please do not be rude, that lady there is your daddies girlfriend and you will treat her with the respect you know"
Thomas looked at Sophie and said
"Sorry ma'am, I'm Thomas"
"Nice to meet you Thomas my name is Sophie" she said shaking his hand
"Y'all wanna come inside for some sweet tea" Caroline asked
We all went inside and Thomas showed me is bedroom, it was basic but it wasn't unclean. I felt so bad that I had been living in luxury and my boy and his mama have been struggling.
"Thomas baby can you go outside and play for a little while, mama needs to talk to daddy and Sophie" Caroline
"Yes mama, daddy don't leave without saying goodbye"
"I won't I promise" is said
"Daddy you look like that singer man Luke Bryan" he said. Caroline must not have told him who I actually was
"Thomas your daddy is Luke" Caroline said laughing
"Awesome" he said running outside
He was so like me when I was a kid it was unbelievable, I can't wait to get to know him better.
"So Caroline, how areas  going to do this. I want to help as much as I can, I have missed so much"  I asked
"Well summer holidays are in a few weeks, you can have him for the first half if you ain't to busy" she said
"I have a few weeks in the summer spare before tour starts so that's good with me, Sophie that good with you"
"Yeah baby I'm good with that" she said
"That's settled I will come collect him September 4th ok. And as for the maintenance I have already put that into a trust fund for him  he can collect when he is 21. And Caroline we wanna help with a new place for you" I said
"Luke so don't know what to say"
"Well it will stop you blackmailing me" I said laughing
"Luke I'm sorry,...."
"Caroline he is only messing" Sophie said
"Would y'all consider moving to Tennessee closer to me, then it would be easier to spend time with him. I can get him into a really good school"
"Luke I don't know he has friends here"
"He can make new ones"
"You can't just come back into his life and pull him out of school and move him to another state" she said getting a little annoyed
"I only asked for Christ sake, it is only an idea ok, but you can ask him when we are gone. Speaking of which we better go Mama is cooking dinner. Can Sophie and I take him out tomorrow alone" I asked
"Yes that's ok but he needs to be home for 6. I better go call Him and tell him you are leaving"
She went out back and Sophie said
"Luke baby you need to stop trying to hard. He loves you and if he don't wanna move you will still be in his life ok" she said leaning over and kissing me
"Ewwwwww" was all we heard as I turned and saw Thomas laughing.
"You won't be saying that in a few years buddy" I replied "Sophie and I are going to see your meemaw, and we will come back tomorrow and take you out for the day"
"Can I meet meemaw also" he asked
I looked at Caroline and she shrugged
"If you want to buddy"
"Yeah I do Daddy please"
"Ok we will pick you up at 10 tomorrow ok"
"I have church tomorrow Daddy, you can come"
"Ok I will come over at 9 and we can all go to church"
I gave him a hug and he shook Sophie's hand. I think this is gonna be good.
