"Baby she is in the past" I said when Sophie asked who Caroline was. She must have heard Mama and I talking.
"I didn't ask that Luke I asked who she was" she said kinda pissed
"She was my girlfriend during collage. We split up years ago." I said
"Oh ok. Your Mama seemed to like her" she said
"Yeah they got on real good. But that was years ago baby. I'm with you" I tried to reassure her. Just at that Mama came back inside
"Hey, I made up the spare room for you Sophie. I know you are Luke are together but under my roof it's separate rooms until y'all are married" she said
"Mama, I... we" I tried to say before I was interrupted
"Boy, separate rooms. If you would excuse me I'm gonna head to bed. I'm meeting an old friend in the morning" she said. I knew she meant Caroline. I just hope she don't bring her home. I know I loved her in college but that was many moons ago and I know for a fact I never felt for her the same way I feel For Sophie.
"Goodnight" Sophie said to Mama
"Goodnight and it was lovely to meet you. I will
See y'all tomorrow." Mama said
I waited till mama was out of earshot before I said
"I can sneak in to your room once she is a asleep"
"Luke she already don't like me so don't give her more ammo" she said
"She does like you baby" I said trying to reassure her
"But I ain't Caroline" she whispered
"And that's why I love you. She broke my heart. She cheated on me so many times. Mama don't know these things so just hang in there baby everything will work out for the good" I said hugging her
"I hope so baby, I hate not being liked" she said laughing
"So can I still not tempt you to sneaking in after hours" I said pouting
"Pout all you want baby, I'm sticking to her rules" she said
"Fine" I said annoyed.
"I'm sure you have plenty of hidden love making spots around here, but if you take time to one she might have been to then you are dead mister" she said laughing
"I'm sure I can find somewhere" I laughed
"Well come on let's what some Netflix and chill before we go our separate ways."
