So Sophie and I are on way with Thomas to see mama. I hope he gets on ok after all I am picking up on a little tension between him and Sophie.
"Hey Thomas you wanna stop for ice cream before we go to your Meemaws" I asked
"Yes sir" he replied
He was really polite, Caroline did well there.
"Sophie sweetheart how about you take Thomas in and get some ice cream and I will wait in the truck" I said trying to get them to spend some time a little.
"Ok baby, just the usual" she asked me
"Yip. Love you" I said as she got out the truck and helped Thomas out. I sat and watched them walk into Dairy Queen.
Sophie's POV
I helped Thomas out and walked towards the shop.
"So Thomas are y'all having fun with Dad and I" I asked
"Yes ma'am." He said "Are you and my daddy married" he asked
"No we ain't married I am his girlfriend" I said
"Oh so he can still marry my mama" he said
I didn't know how to answer him so I just said
"Yes he can if he wants to. Why don't you ask him"
"Ok" he replied
We got into the shop got our order and went back to Luke.
"Thomas did you not wanna ask your daddy a question" I said
"Daddy when are going to marry mama and we can be a family" he asked. I felt my heart sunk, who in the hell did he think I was and what has Caroline been telling him. I waited on Luke's answer which seemed to take ages.
"Buddy, your mama and I are not a couple, I am with Sophie and one day I'm gonna marry her and she will be your step mama" he said
I didn't say anything.
"But...." he stopped
"But Nothing Thomas, give Sophie a chance she is really fun" Luke said
"Ok daddy I will"
Luke reached over na stool my hand and said
"I will marry you one day baby. I love you"
