Sometimes we feel like we got life all planned out. We plan for the future but fail to live in the present.
Everything seems perfect to the public eye but behind close doors it's the complete opposite. Heaven becomes Hell but we have no choice but...

Dave stared at the church full of people who came to show their respects. He winced from the head ache had from being hungover
It was officially 2 weeks since his mother passed away and that was killing Dave even if he didn't let it show. What hurt the most is that the most important day of his life turned to be the worst.
The game he played was what determined his future. He got offered a full ride scholarship to the school he chose but at the moment none of that mattered.
He's been smoking and drinking his life away these past two weeks. He worked hard but once his shifts were over he turned to the bottle and the weed to numb his pain.
Mr.Marco's offered to pay for the funeral cost since he knew Dave and Jerome weren't stabled financially to do so.
Dave watched as Kaine and Layla cried their eyes out. Their grandma flew in for the funeral bringing them two along to say their final goodbyes.
Kaine didn't know how to react. He was the youngest of the 5 and didn't find it fair that he was the one that got to spend less time with their mother. He wished his mother never sent them away so he could've have more time with her but what was done was done and all he could do is find a way to cope with the pain
Layla on the other hand felt like it was her mothers fault. She felt like her mother didn't fight hard enough for her life and just left them to fend for themselves. She didn't want to blame their mother fuck she felt like she has no choice. In her eyes her mother didn't do what she needed to do In order to survive and be there with them.
Nataya was trying to stay strong for the family but she couldn't help but break down. She wanted nothing more than to hug her mother one last time. She wanted to go back to when she 6 and she would get in bed with her mother on days she couldn't sleep and her mother would sing her a lullaby while playing with her hair instantly knocking her out for the night. In her eyes her mother was a queen who always put her children before herself. She didn't understand why out of all the people it had to be her. She placed her hands on her growing stomach letting tears fall at the thought of her mother not being able to meet her first grandchild. She was 3 months pregnant and was excited to tell her mother the news but it didn't go as planned
Jerome on the other hand was blaming the whole world for what happened to his mother. First person who he feels disrespects him gets the ass beating of their life. He used aggression to cope with her death along with drugs and liquor. He felt so lost without his mother that he felt that if he didn't have younger siblings to take care of he would have probably committed suicide by now. He didn't know what he was going to do. His mother was his backbone. The only person who could keep him sane at a time like this. He didn't understand how everything went left when the doctors just told her she was making progress.
They were not at cemetery and this is where reality really set in for them. As they lowered their mothers casket to the ground they realized that this wasn't a bad dream that they would awake from but a harsh reality that they will have to deal with for the rest of their lives. Their mother was really gone and not coming back.
They lost the one lady who kept everyone sane and well grounded.
Dave couldn't take it no more. He didn't want to stick around and watch them throw dirty on his mothers casket.
He got up from his seat making his way out of the crowded cemetery. He flagged down a cab getting in
"To the nearest bar" He told the driver
The driver nodded taking him to a bar not to far from where Dave lived
Pulling up Dave paid the man before getting out and walking in. He had a fake ID on him which was how he was getting all his liquor and was even able to enter the bar in the first place.
He approached the bar ordering his drink as he took a seat. He moved his to the music as a million thoughts ran through his head
At this point he didn't know where he wanted to go in life. Basketball didn't seem as important to him no more.
