I sat at the table waiting for Anthony. I had to come talk to him about what he had told me the day he got arrested.

I knew he wanted me to take care of Heaven until he got out but had no idea he wanted me to actually adopt her.

Adopting is a big step. One thing is having legal guardianship over because that just means we're sorta co parenting but to actually take her in and make her my daughter that's a huge step and I want to make sure he's a hundred percent.

I heard the doors open making me look up. I seen the guards taking off the cuffs.

He turned making his way to me sending a smile my way. I couldn't help but return it

It's been a month since he's gotten arrested and so far Heaven doesn't really seem to mind. At the night is when It hits her that her dad isn't there. I tried explaining to her in the best way that I could that her father would no longer be able to be with her as much as he would like to. I mean how else can you tell a 4 year old that because of stupid mistakes and her mothers  bitterness she won't have her dad with her on holidays and other major events? And that only time she'll be able to see him is in some prison

"Hey baby" he said approaching the table where I was seated

"Hey" I got up giving him a quick hug before the guards could say anything.

"How's my baby girl?" He asked

"She's doing good. So far she understands that your in here and isn't really throwing much of a fit. She just told me that she's going to ask god every night to bring you home to her"

"I miss her so much. Thank you for taking her in. I know it's a lot considering you're only 18 but she loves you so much and I couldn't let them take her into the system"

"It's Really no big deal but why did you really choose me? Why not your parents? Or sister?" I asked

"My parents are old Des. They won't be able to keep up with her or even treat her like she deserves. My sister she won't take her in because she doesn't support anything I do so now that I'm in here she sorta disowned me" He said sounding upset

"Don't worry Ant. I got her. I'll raise her to
The best of my ability. But are you sure you want me to adopt her? I thought you only wanted me to be her guardian"

"Yes Im positive. Desire baby living behind these walls you never know lf you'll make it to the end of your sentence. Niggas in here killing other niggas for the fun of it. I know i can hold my ground but you never know when you might get caught lacking. I just want to ensure that my daughters in good hands no matter what happens"

"Please be careful in there Ant. Please. The last thing Heaven needs is to never be able to see you again"

"I'm doing my best but adopt her. Make her yours. I talked to my parents and they bought you a house. Now before you go protesting just hear me out. I made sure they bought you a house because that small apartment isn't big enough for you guys. You need your space and Heaven needs hers. Then you have Layla and Kain who Im almost positive want to move in with you but due to the lack of rooms being available they haven't. I paid half the house off and left you the other half because I know how independent you are and you won't feel like it's your house unless you pay some off" He laughed "it's a nice 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house. It's furnished and ready for you to move in"He spoke before looking around

They're also going to give you bank information for 3 accounts. One is for Heaven. They're going to deposit money in there monthly. Around 7 thousand for anything she might need or want. That'll cover medical expenses as well. The second one is for you. You'll get 7 thousand as well just to keep you covered. Please use the money. It can be for you or for the kids but make sure you use it for whatever. The last one is a college fund I started for you. Go and become the best lawyer there is and maybe you can bail me out" he said laughing

I couldn't help the tears that were falling down. My whole life has been nothing but struggle and now this man is giving me everything I could ever dream of having

"I can't take it Ant"

"Yes you Can and you will. With you starting school you won't be able to work as much. With the money I'm giving you it'll hold you until you graduate. You have my word that once you graduate you'll stop receiving money from so you can be independent again Ight"

"Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me. You're truly a blessing in disguise" I chuckled wiping my tears

"You deserve it. You've been through so much that you deserve to be happy Desire. You have to stop thinking about others and think about yourself sometimes. Enjoy your life. You're still young so don't let little shit stop you"

"I'll try"

"Are you going to take my advice?" He raised an eyebrow

"To be happy?"

"Yeah And you know how right?"

I stared at him confused as to what he was trying to tell me.

He looked around the room again his eyes landed on something. Or should I say someone. I followed his gaze and seen it landed on Dave who came with me so he could see Mugga and Jungle.

"What does Dave have to do with anything?"

"Everything. Desire you can't lie to me and tell me that you feel nothing for him. I can see it in yourself that you have strong feelings for him but are to scared to act out on It. Talk to him. Tell him your insecurities. Don't wait until it's too late"

"I guess"

"Don't guess baby. You gotta know but my times up. Do everything I told you. Use that money for anything. Christmas is coming up. Buy the kids some designer. I love you baby girl"

He got up walking over to me. He bent down giving me a very passionate kiss before walking away.
