Betty waited in Pop's for Kevin. She was planning a date with Veronica but it had to be special as it was there 2 year anniversary coming up. She asked Kevin if he could help.
"Finally! You're here. I have no idea what to do!" Betty panicked.
"Chill, it's veronica just take her out to a nice gourmet restaurant and buy dinner." Kevin said.
"No! It has to be special Kev. She means a lot to me. I wanna surprise her." Betty said.
"Okay.. what's her favourite film?" Kev asked getting out his notepad.
"Uhh... right now I think it's 'The Breakfast Club'" Betty replied.
"Okay... how about you organise a movie night in the forest by your house. We can put up fairy lights around the trees, put down blankets where you two can sit, borrow my projector and watch 'The Breakfast Club' on the screen. We can get some snacks and drinks and just have a good night." Kevin suggested.
"You know you can be smart when you wanna be." Betty joked.
"So is that a yes?" Kevin asked.
"I think she'll love it. Let's just hope it's not raining Saturday night." Betty said looking at the rain pouring down the diners windows.
Saturday came and Betty and Kevin were in the supermarket looking for all the snacks.
"Do you think she'll like Reese's Pieces?" Kevin asked.
"I think so, I know she loves Peanut butter." Betty said grabbing the crisps.
"You've been with her for two years and you still don't know what her favourite chocolate is." Kevin said.
"Well, it's not the first thing we do when we see each other Kev..." Betty smirked.
"Too much information!" Kevin yelled.
On the other side of town, Veronica was getting ready for her surprise date from Betty. All she knew was, to wear something comfortable and no heels. Veronica was stuck as she always wore heels. She grabbed a pair of her mom's old converse.
"These will do." She said to her self. She wore black jeans with a white hoodie. She sat waiting for Kevin to pick her up. Suddenly there was a knock at her door.
"Ready?" Kevin asked, he placed a blindfold over Veronica's eyes.
"Is there a need for this?" Veronica asked not wanting her make-up to rub off.
"Just trust me." Kevin said grasping Veronica's arm.
They finally arrived at the forest. It looked like a scene from a film. Kevin lead Veronica over to where Betty was standing and left them to it.
"1...2...3... Surprise." Betty whispered in Veronica's ear whilst untying the blindfold. Betty placed her arms around Veronica's waist whilst Veronica's eyes adjusted to the beautiful sight in front of her.
"You did this? For me?" Veronica asked in shock.
"Well some help from Kev... but yes for you. Happy 2 year anniversary V." Betty said.
"This is amazing. Oh my god! Reese's Pieces! You remembered." Veronica said rushing over to where the snacks were.
"Are you ready for the film?" Betty said.
"Wait, one thing..." Veronica said. She turned to face Betty and kissed her. Betty felt a rush of excitement in her stomach.
"Thank you." Veronica said. They both sat on the blankets and watched the film. Veronica was truly appreciative to have Betty in her life and has her girlfriend.
The film was nearly finished and Veronica was asleep. Betty laughed as she knew this would happen. She didn't want to wake her so she tried to pick her up and bring her back to Betty's house. She placed Veronica in her bed and pulled the blankets on her. Betty knew she was taking a risk; if her mom were to wake up and find Veronica in Betty's bed, Betty would forever be forbidden to date anyone again. She kissed Veronica on the forehead, locked her bedroom door and turned the lights off.
The next Morning...
"Betty! Why is the door locked?! Betty Cooper you answer me right now!" Betty's mom screamed from the other side of the door whilst rattling the door handle. Both Betty and Veronica jumped up in shock.
"Quick hide!" Betty whispered.
"Where?" Veronica asked still half asleep. They both looked at the window.
"You've got to be kidding me?!" Veronica sighed. Veronica got up and opened the window.
"I'll call you later. Love you!" Betty said just before kissing Veronica goodbye. Veronica climbed down the tree that was near Betty's window. She couldn't help but think how crazy her girlfriend was but that was one of the reasons why she loved her.
